On to the island, unless you know what ever the Others secert is.
Maybe the parachuter knew the helicopter was going to crash when it got near the island, so she was perpared to parachute out of it.

Maybe you can get over the islands barrier. Desmond was in a storm when he landed there, right? Maybe the storm opened the barrier up long enough for him to get threw it by boat.

Wasn't Daniells ship also in a storm? Okay I'm rambling and my memory isn't all that great so please point out all of my mistakes:biggrin:

Weather balloon, that plane from Nigeria (Eko's bro Remi). Everything seems to "crash" into the island. Sure Desomnds boat made the transition with no visible damage, the gauges may of been permanently damaged, hence his inability to get off the island. I think it is safe to sumize that the Island is accessable by air and sea. Did Nikki and Paulo arrive by plane too? I quite forget much of their arrival details. Perhaps, the "rough ride" Ethan refers to in, OOU, is exactly that, falling out of the sky or violent weather. I think if it came down to it, the Island would permit any means of travel as long as the cargo within it, is deemed worthy.

Couple of things:

<> The crash was quite a way out from the parashute point, which means it was NOT a helocopter, probably a high-altitude drop-glider. Military uses some with velocity turbines that SOUND like a helo... or the sound to the Losties was a red herring...
<> The pilot was locked in for high-altitude and edge-of-atmosphere flight... oxygen supply, sealed helmet... this was not a normal helo pilot

SO YES, something about a high-level barrier or force-field jump may be in play here

There are times to spell check. Posting here is not one of them. I just thought it was funny. Glad you did too.

I find it odd that everyone we have seen come to the island has been unconscious upon arriving.

Jack, Locke (rest of survivors?)
Ana Lucia (she sorta wakes up underwater)
Desmond
Juliet (on submarine, which I don't believe brought her there for one minute... she might have been unconsciously parachuted).
Helicopter(?) Pilot

Interesting. Maybe whatever barrier protects the island would fry your brain if you were awake when you come through it.

Except that Kate uniquely and inexplicably claims that "I saw it all." Of course, she may have just convinced herself that she saw it (it's not uncommon for the unconscious to make up a narrative) and this puzzling point will never be revisited.

But . . . it's true that everyone whose arrival we have actually seen, or heard described, has crashed (by air or sea). Not the submarine--but there's certainly an intriguing and suspicious time gap there.
