When Des first approaches Charlie on the beach he is writing/playing songs from a Dharma notebook with the Pearl logo on it.

Did we ever see Charlie go to the Pearl?

Did we ever see any characters take any of the blank notebooks back to the camp?

I get all the hatch names confused, but wasn't the buttone being pushed in the Pearl? If so, Charlie was there when it imploded. Or was that the Swan - see I have the names confused already.

As for one lostie using supplies versus another can we accept that they are in a community and perhaps Sayid said here thought you might be able to use this for something.

No, the notebooks are from the Pearl, the station where they watch everyone, are supposed to fill out a notebook (reminds me soooo much of "The Lives of Others") put it in the tube to be sent to M. Candle and others, but really went to a big dump. The losties have not been to that hatch many times, and we know the others use it too. The few times the losties have been there, it never showed them collecting "stuff" to bring back to the beach (I'm not saying they couldn't, I'm just saying we've never seen it).

The Swan is the hatch that imploded. The Pearl is the little monitoring station that is near the Nigerian plane.

I'm guessing that one of the visitors to the Pearl (Eko, Locke, Sayid, Nikki, Paulo) decided to take a few notebooks back with them. And Charlie got his hands on one.

No screencap??? I didn't notice this. I will probably rewatch the ep soon so I'll look but it would be cool to have a screencap.

We never saw Charlie go there, except technically when he was at the Nigerian plane, but that was before the Pearlwas discovered. We didnt see anyone take one from the dump, and the Others attacked rightafter they discovered it.

Is it possible that the notebooks were in the supply/food drop they found in the jungle? The notebook that had the Pearl logo on it was meant to take notes either by the Pearl team or about the Pearl team. Just a thought.

I noticed right away that Charlie had a notebook from The Pearl station! I didn't question how he got it I guess. I also thought it was funny that this is the same notebook that ABC is selling on its official Lost website store.

It did strike me as odd, too, when I first saw it. But there are ways how Charlie would have gotten the notebook without things being suspicious .A food/supply drop is my choice of the moment. Or somebody went back into the Pearl station in between the scenes we saw there. But ofr now I'll get with the supply drop.

Correct me if I'm wrong (like you wouldn't) but when Locke first went to the Pearl, he did take some notebooks back with him. Remember, he showed them to Desmond and this is how Desmond realized it was the day he missed entering the numbers that the plane crashed onto the island. I am thinking that Locke brought back a couple of notebooks and Charlie got one from the computer area before the hatch imploded???

That wasn't a notebook. Locke took the printout from the computer. It had the system failure on it.

Somebody beat me to the correcting :biggrin:. Ah, but you know how that's meant, I'm also always glad if somebody corrects me when I get the facts wrong. I do think that Locke took the printouts, too, the ones that showed some sort of confirmatio for every time the numbers were entered.. At least I don't remember any notebooks, but to know for sure I'd need to re-watch again.

I don't see much significance in this "find".

Did Charlie find the Pearl hatch on his own? We know Nikki and Paulo did.

Sayid showed Charlie the drug plane less than a week before Tom covered the Pearl hatch with it. That was when Charlie discovered the drug filled statues. He could have discovered the hatch when he went back to collect the rest of the statues. Why he didn't hide his stash in the Pearl hatch like Paulo did is beyond me, but I'm thinking it was easy accessibility. Paulo didn't expect anyone to go back to the Pearl and thought the diamonds would be safe there.

Eko took lots of the printouts and notebooks from the hatch back to the swan, it is posisble Charlie picked one up from here.

Also possible that any of the others picked some up on one of the trips there and brought them back to cmap - paper would be scarce i imagine.
