View Full Version : Does Sun really have two months to live?
pacejunkie 04-26-2007, 12:12 AM So if what Juliet says is true, then by my calculations Sun will be at death's door by around the season four finale. How convenient. I guess we know what her story arc will be for next year.
Any thoughts on the implications of that? She is now the second character to effectively be given a death sentence and be told she is terminal.
KingMe122o 04-26-2007, 12:20 AM At the rate that everything is going, shouldn't it be the end of the fifth season? So far, 1 season equals about a month. And on top of that, the fifth season will be half as long as the others, so it should be after the show has ended, unless the time that the episodes are equal to speed up sometime.
pacejunkie 04-26-2007, 12:25 AM Each season has been about 5-6 weeks right? So it's possible next season could be 8 weeks. Juliet didn't mean exactly 2 months anyway, it was just an estimate.
Diesels Blitz 04-26-2007, 12:30 AM Yeah the 2 months were just an estimate. Sun could die earlier or even later. I'm betting on later, and it will arrive right around the season 5 finale (potential series finale) and she will be close to dying as they get rescued to make it even more dramatic.
I'm certainly no doctor, but if she got pregnant 54 days ago, and you add 2 months, that would still would not be the middle of the 2nd trimester, correct? Who knows, maybe Sun will be the first to make it to her 3rd trimester.
Admiral Erik Pressman 04-26-2007, 12:34 AM Yeah it would seem that she actually has less than 2 months. So maybe the S4 finale is a good estimate. But we all know that this is gonna play a big role in the events to come, and no doubt there will be several attempts to save Sun and Jin jr. Who knows; maybe one will work??
lostgurl 04-26-2007, 12:44 AM Hopefully Sun will be Juliet's on-island miracle, like her sister was off-island. Either way, Juliet seems to be her only hope. Sun is going to be one sad character for a whole season. Juliet better get busy and start finding a cure.
mrain01 04-26-2007, 12:44 AM Sun concieved 53 days ago. If they are at day 90 on the island, she concieved 37 days after the crash.
But according to the timeline at lostcubit.net, Sun spoke English and Jin left her on day 33. And the raft launched on day 44. Sun and Jin were on the outs for those 11 days.
How did Jin impregnate Sun??
onenil 04-26-2007, 12:47 AM How did Jin impregnate Sun??
THAT'S what I want to know! Because even before their big blow up in "...In Translation," they weren't really getting along that well.
pacejunkie 04-26-2007, 12:51 AM Are we sure they said 53 days ago or did they say she conceived on day 53? Day 53 makes more sense. She would be about five weeks into her pregnancy and she would have conceived during that reunion romp in What Kate Did.
LostLaura 04-26-2007, 12:52 AM I know, seriously. How did Jin get her pregnant? I think we were all thinking that if Jin was the father that they conceived the night that the fuselagers were reunited with the raftees/tailies in WKD. The next morning they wake up and come out of the tent, etc. etc.... Does that jibe with what day we are at right now? I hope so, otherwise I'm thinking timeline error or Juliet is lying to both Sun and Ben (possible).
Save The Humans 04-26-2007, 12:55 AM I'm anti-abortion, but why hasn't this been talked about as an option?
Diesels Blitz 04-26-2007, 12:56 AM Hopefully Sun will be Juliet's on-island miracle, like her sister was off-island. Either way, Juliet seems to be her only hope. Sun is going to be one sad character for a whole season. Juliet better get busy and start finding a cure.
Thats right! This could be the time Juliet finally solves the problem of pregnant women dying. That way Sun will live, and hopefully Juliet will get to go home.
ozieozwall 04-26-2007, 01:11 AM Sun and any other of the Lostie group should be ok. IMO the Hostiles are the ones who can't have children, they have done something on the Island and the Island is terminating the pregnate women who are amoung the Hostles. Sun is the first of the Losties to get Pregnate on the island. Juliet when she recorded the message for Ben, that she was trying to find out who amoung the Losties were pregnate. The Hostles are using the Losties to harvest the babies for some purpose, since they can't have children.
Juliet in the message "I hate you Ben," made it clear she disliked what she was doing for him. Which is another sign saying (between the lines) the Hostles (Ben and Company) are harvesting children to some end.
EyeAmLost 04-26-2007, 02:13 AM i'm thinking sun got pregnant off the island.
silveranswer 04-26-2007, 02:16 AM This is our second series regular now with a death sentence- Sun joins Charlie on 'death row'. Somehow I don't think they'll both be goners. . . at least not this season.
EyeAmLost 04-26-2007, 02:34 AM sorry, i guess i should have waited to watch more of the episode.

I'd hate for them to both die at the same time. At least Sun is given a date, Charlie can die anytime, any moment.
mklost 04-26-2007, 03:23 AM I really think this isn't even worth discussing at length because i thought it was pretty clear that Juliet lied to Sun in order to set herself up to be the hero;therefore, Ben will let her go. The last few episodes clearly set this up. Sun is not going to die and Juliet will eventually be discovered. She is lying to too many people right now. I give her a lot of credit for her bravery. I think Juliet was being honest for once when she said she really just wants to give pregnant mothers good news. Her work has proven to be unsuccessful on the island so she has lost her faith. FOr Juliet, going home will be her redemption.

That may be a bit of a leap at this point. What we already know is that Juliet hates Ben for not letting her go home or communicate with her sister. That's reason enough. She's being forced to continue her work for him as a condition for release, a promise she no longer even believes.
