I'm not one to lend importance to every little sound effect, but when Hurley shot the flare (6:00), one of smokey's sounds was heard amidst the whoosh. It was the one that resembles a castanet. I guess it makes more sense to say smokey was in the area, but for some reason it seemed to me the sound was part of the flare shot. If you can re-watch it, let me know if you agree.

My husband also thought it was the smokey sound, but I thought it was just a sizzle sound from the flare.
