If this has been posted already, I apologize in advance. I scoured the thread titles and couldn't find anything relating to my theory...so here goes.

After watching tonight's episode I am curious to find out if Locke and Mikhail decided to work together during their brief time at the Flame. Locke was the one who pushed Mikhail into the sonic fence and Mikhail "thanked him" with a wry smile on his face. I noticed when Kate turned him over after she climbed the sonic fence he was still breathing. This indicates it was a plan all along, that he wasn't going to die and he knew it. So my thoughts are that he told Locke this, and they begin their plot. The Losties left ole Patchy in the field for dead and made their journey to Othersville where Locke encountered Ben in his bedroom and demanded to know more about the submarine that Mikhail told him about. I think Locke and Mikhail may have worked together to "hide" the submarine while making it look as though Locke blew it up.

It makes sense that Mikhail could have climbed inside of the sub while the Losties were at the Other's camp and waited for Locke to arrive after nightfall, then chartered it out of the dock and in another area of the island's coast, thus making whatever it was that Locke blew up create an explosion.

Anyone else have thoughts regarding this? Please feel free to add to (or discredit) my theory and bring to my attention anything I more-than-likely missed.

Thanks everyone!

While heavy, and thus unlikely, this is still a good theory. Im thinkig Locke may have helped him seem dead, but the sub is def sunk.

Well, I'll say that if they pulled this off, not only would it be FRAKING AWESOME, they would get even higher levels of respect that what they already have. I mean, it fits a lot ad answers a lot of questions.

I don't think this is what happened. I think that Mikhail is the faker and knew that he wouldn't die and I think Locke, and the rest of the survivors there thought he had really died. Locke wants to find out about the island, that doesn't make him a partner of one of the others.

I think Locke definitely knew he wasn't killing Mikhail when he threw him at the fence. We have seen Locke attempting to kill somebody (Eddie) in a FB and he didn't have the nerve. Locke wouldn't switch so easy from struggling and failing to kill somebody to killing somebody on a whim and then being all "Ooopps! Sorry." about it.

I really like this idea! I love Locke already and Mihkail is very quickly growing on me so I'd love to see them team up. And it's interesting since they're both sort of outsiders of opposing teams.

Well it seems to me it would be hard to fake blood coming out of your ears but who knows. Still, its quite a stretch. I dont see Locke and Mikhail high fiving each other behind everyone's back. Locke is far too inquisitive to accept such a relationship so quickly. I dont buy it but i am routinely wrong when it comes to this show...

Additionally, as for Mikhail still breathing after the fence had a round with him, who is to say he was dead. I think that the fence critically wounded him and then, shortly after, the island critically healed him.
