When desmond miss to enter the number in the day the plane pass over the island, he create a parallel world (New) where the passenger crash on the island... in the other world ( called real world or exterior world) the plane crash in ocean and everybody died !

I think it's a kind of mathematical problem where the is two solution called "Bifurcation" in one every body died, in a other there are all alive...

It may be something to do with a Multiverse. I pointed out in another thread (about The Flash) that one of the Flashes actually died "saving the world" as it were.

This happened in the miniseries called "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which is all about a multiverse and the villains attempts to wipe it out.

Another interesting point is that when one of the parallel worlds was about to be consumed by anti-matter one of the portents was the sky turning violet/purple.

I like these theories. If the writers really wanted to get technical on us, they could bring some fancy Physics into this to explain it, like 'anti matter' and 'bifurcation'. Very cool. I wonder what would happen if someone actually did get off the island though, like Michael and Walt. Would their dead bodies have been found in the other universe? Could they even escape the one they are in now and return to it? Obviously parachute-girl could get to the island, even if she was from another multiverse.

Or a simpler explanation is that the parachutist was lying about the plane crashing and everyone dying.

If she was meeting Mikhail to re-establish communications, she would need a cover story. Pretending that the plane crashed and everyone died would make the losties think they were in a different reality.

That is also why she had a photo of Desmond and Penny on her. It makes her story more convincing.
