So that begs the question, who was with her?
My father and I discussed this and came up with a few ideas:
Penny's dad : "Just wanted to remind you to stay away from my daughter."
An officiator for the race around the world, there to ensure that Desmond isn't cheating.
An army recruiter wanting Desmond back to meet his quota.
Ruth, she wants Desmond to reimburse her for her unused wedding dress.
Or her brother wants to punch him again.
Wife of the Man With Red Shoes seeking revenge for his death.
Jack from another timeline who got off the island and has come back to thank him for fixing his ankle.
Bartender seeking bar tab payment.
Baseball bat company rep wanting an endorsement for how well their bats hit.
Tech to do one year preventative maint on yacht.
Copilot is Death, there to ask Desmond to stop interfering and just let him do his job and kill Charlie.
Miss Hawking, the jewlry store woman, there to chastise him for no longer pushing the button, the most important thing he would ever do...
...or maybe reconsidering on that offer for the ring.
Speaking of the ring, maybe a diver found it and is returning it.
Head Monk, wants Desmond back to load some more wine.Can anyone think of any more?

My father and I were limiting the copilot to Desmond related people, but why not other losties?

Any of the following: The Skipper, The Millionaire, His Wife, The Movie Star, The Proffesor, and Mary Anne.

palomino_grl78 04-26-2007, 11:21 AM Maybe it's (God forbid) Michael. J/K...I'd die and would start to dislike this show. If it is in fact Penny, and I don't really think it would be, the Others will have found her, and we won't find out about it until the finale or else late next season (that's the pattern I have observed with the show). Either way, if there was someone else we won't find out about for awhile I at least I don't think.
