When Naomi was telling her story of how the chopper crashed she said she was in the middle of the ocean and it was cloudy until she managed to fly through the clouds and came upon an island. After that the helicopter then crashed into the ocean. In the Wonder Woman comic the amazonian island of themiscara (sorry if I misspelled it) it is off the map surrounded by clouds to hide it from the sight of man. Could the miscarriages by the women be related to the amazons. Also in Greek mythology isn't Mt. Olympus surrounded by cloud cover. Just a theory what does everybody else think.

Could fit. Especially if the Amazons or Olympians only had 4 toes.

On a side note, aren't humans supposedly evolving and losing our pinkie toes?

About the pinkie toes: I've read that as well, and it's what my grade 8 science teacher said.

I don't know amazon mythology seems like a stretch - although i suppose I don't really know a lot about it. I'm a little confused about what you think the connection is - that the losties are on a mythological island?

I not sure but the amazons don't need men, I guess they were lesbians, but in the comics they would never get pregnant. The queen would make children from the clay of the island and bring them to life. Lost is kinda on a different path, but I was just thinking of different possibilities.

Some amazon myths have them raiding villages and mating with the men. If they had a male child, they would leave outside the village for the others to care for. Or they actually had men living in the village, playing more of what people think of as the womans roll, but had no power.
