I know it was a little strange, although one of the others was the one that told him to do that? Maybe that was his "test"? They wanted to see if he actually did it himself?

That's a great idea. Although I guess there's no way anyone will ever be able to prove it one way or the other. It really isn't fair that he's taking credit for it, especially when it's like a passport to something he knows he was supposed to "earn."

Richard told him to use Sawyer to kill him, it's all part of the plan.

Lets just see if Locke using Sawyer to kill Cooper will have negative effects on him as far as the island goes.

Maybe Richard is on Juliet's side. Remember Juliet wanted Ben killed? Perhaps Richard wants a change for their community. He wants Locke to become their leader. Now the question is why Richard doesnt like Ben?
