She said the clouds disappeared and she saw the island. Is that far-fetched being that it was nighttime when this happened? Sure I could understand her seeing it during the day when the clouds move, but in the pitch black dark? Why would she even be searching at night anyway? It must've been like 3 or 4 in the morning, dark for hours.

It wasn't pitch black. If you go to this screenshot (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=95552&fullsize=1) you'll see that there was a very bright moon out that was lighting up the clouds above as well as casting moonlight on the faces of the men on the beach (which you can see in other screenshots). It would have been no problem flying a helicopter over the Island to have seen it in that moonlight. ;)

Until they make contact with her rescue ship and debunk the Dead/Survivors of 815 theory, she cannot be trusted. Sayid is right to assume she is not to be trusted. If there is anything that can be learned about the Island, it's that there is always some hidden agenda over looked. I still don't think she would be able to see the Island, more likely that she detected it on her "high tech phone" rather than having owl vision from 3,000ft + in the air.

She's working both sides, but she is not working for the others. Which means she is working for Widmore. She's trying to make Desmond look like a fool. Maybe this is why we could see Charles in the s3 finale. Connects with the parachutist. and her other person who appeared to be her. So, what's up with that? when we'll find out this other person.

I believe she said she had all but given up before she saw the Island, which would explain why it was night-- she had just spent all day searching.
I, for one, believe Naomi.

What gets to me about it all is that the rather large splash made by the helicopter in the ocean was clearly visible, yet the helicopter itself never was. Also, if you look at how far out to sea the helicopter crashed and how far inland Naomi landed, it seems like far too long a distance if the helicopter was coming towards the island when she bailed.
Of course, my understanding of trajectory is not up to Arzt standards! ;)
