We all know Locke's story. But Who is he? The end of Lost he stated he wasn't one of the Others and he is no longer a Lostie, he is on his own journey. Good Grief!!! Then in the previews were Ben is forced to show him the secrets... ????????? You get this weird feeling that "Whoever Locke is his purose must be something incrediable."

I think his purpose is to simply lead the Others. There clearly are rumblings in the Others camp about Ben. I think they feel Locke is the perfect fit.

Seems like at the end of the episode he was on his way to find the others with Cooper in a body bag, just like Ben told him to do.

What if locke's dad is only as dead as Mikael, the last person locke thought he killed? in other words, is it possible that there is something other than locke's dad in that bodybag?

@Minestrone
I think it's possible that he is dead but not DEAD, but I think it is pretty much certain that it's his father in the bag.

I don't think that Locke's purpose is to lead the others, like he said to Sawyer in "The brig" "I'm on my own journey now". He's not setting out to be one of the others or to lead them. Where he ends up is anyone's guess but I think his purpose on the island is more important and more special than being involved with the others.

Recalling the podcast or whatever cast that the producers et all stated all names have a purpose or meaning.
Locke=Key.
Locke is the key to unlocking the indiginous forces/inhabitants of the island....My big not famous theory from the beginning. I have always felt that the original forces/beings are somehow being repressed with in the island by Dharma. Now my theory is expanding to the Others wanting to unrepress this force. They need someone who is a long lost decendant of the indiginous peoples. I think Locke is this person.
His "Dad' definitely knew particulars of the Island. I really don't think he believed he was in the real hell. It was just hell for him, because the island is such a raw, pure, judging place. Every time Cooper opened his toilet of a mouth, either Mr. Friendly slammed the door shut or Ben would womp or tazer him.
I think the island is Eden, in real time, but since it is such a special place, there are alot of special things going on there.
