View Full Version : Ben's Walking Because....
Electromagnetic Anomoly 05-03-2007, 12:50 AM of John Locke's arrival to the camp?!?!
What do you think?
If he healed his walking, maybe Ben did not need Jack to do the surgery.
He could have brought (forced/tricked) him to join the others and possibly
have him present to help heal his tumor.

I'm not sure what locke has to do with healing. Recall Locke himself suffered a relapse and had difficulty walking prior to Boone's death.
I don't think Locke necessarily has the corner on island healing.
ame en peine 05-03-2007, 01:00 AM It's possible that Ben could walk all along, and this is part of the illusion he wants to convey in order to remain in charge... That he and the island are magical, and he could want Locke to feel he's part of that magic
LostLaura 05-03-2007, 01:01 AM I'm not sure that Ben ever needed to be in the wheelchair. We know that he had a tumor, because Jack operated on him. But everything else could be part of a con. I don't trust ANYTHING when it comes to Ben.

True, I guess my question being posed is:
Does Ben tell Locke he has had feelings in his legs since he arrived because he believes
it to be true?
Or is it just a con to convince Locke he is special?
Fierro 05-03-2007, 01:12 AM if being close to Locke helped Ben get better, that reminds me of a certain mysterious character who's supposed to cure cancer magically..
could this be a hint as to who Jacob really is???

That's exactly what I thought...just to try and convice Locke that he is special. Ben is an amazing manipulator. Has he ever told the truth? Who knows - the dude is seriously evil! :)
rayhimself 05-03-2007, 01:22 AM I wanted to believe that his legs started working again because he denounced the refridgerated chicken. However, after reading this thread the seed of doubt has been planted. We know that Ben likes to play chess three or four moves in advance. I could definitely see him keeping his progress to himself for a dramatic twist later on....
Marcus Antonius 05-03-2007, 01:30 AM oh man, I hope that the whole Locke being "special" thing isn't just a con by Ben. I think Locke's character is the best thing going on LOST right now and I really want to see them up the island mysticism as opposed to the strictly scientific things going on there, and this is a great way to do it.
Saukkomies 05-03-2007, 01:38 AM ...he's getting ready for the Special Olympics, in which he'll be doing the hop, skip and jump event, since he's so good at hopping around the truth...
ozieozwall 05-03-2007, 02:38 AM I don't know anything about back surgery but it could I assume put you in a wheel chair for a while. Jack was good enough to keep other from being paralized why not Ben. Ben also lies and throws misdirection. Probably a scam. Ben tells Locke his mere presents makes him get a tingle. Tingle is his delight in the scam he is cooking up.
