View Full Version : "we're going to a new place, well an OLD place"
Marcus Antonius 05-03-2007, 01:23 AM when Ben says this, could it be a reference to the possible time shift theory? maybe wherever they are going is not a different where, but a different WHEN. i think the fact that Sayid mentioned the futuristic nature of the SAT phone backs this up, as it suggests the parachutist comes from a time slightly in the future, so something is going on with time.
any thoughts?
LostLaura 05-03-2007, 01:24 AM Oh, I thought he meant in relation to how old the island is, like 4-toed statue old.
The_Others_2005 05-03-2007, 01:26 AM Maybe at the make shift camp where they were holding Walt?
getbackjs 05-03-2007, 01:26 AM i think it is simply the place they used to live before they overtook Dharma's camp
oliverqueen 05-03-2007, 01:27 AM The thing Cooper was attached to looked pretty old. Perhaps that and the foot are the remnant of something quite old...perhaps even ancient. Maybe there is more and that is where they are going.
Or maybe they're just going to the foot. But why the foot?
cheers
Electromagnetic Anomoly 05-03-2007, 01:35 AM Oh, I thought he meant in relation to how old the island is, like 4-toed statue old.
Agreed!!!
Meeting adjourned.
I think, by showing us the pillar that the "real" Sawyer was tied to, they were showing us that it was an old place in the sense that it was an ancient place--that is, a place that had been there for a very long time. So, it's old in a historic sense.
wonkavator 05-03-2007, 01:45 AM Well they are going to the losties beach to steal the pregnant women, right? So an old place for Locke.
Marcus Antonius 05-03-2007, 01:46 AM i'm not sure the place where they were in tonight's episode is the place he was refering to when he said an "old place". i think tonight's place was just a stop along the way, before the final leg of the journey. i think the place they are going is behind the "door" that Ben refers to in the preview for next week.
GodBlessTexas 05-03-2007, 01:51 AM It's been covered in the spoiler section if any of you are interested. Each season has one main large set that has been focused on that we haven't really seen before. For season 1, it was the beach. For season 2 it was the Swan, and Season 3 it's been Alcatraz/Othersville. Rumor has it we're getting another one for season four, but for anything more specific than that you need to head to the spoiler section. When Ben said old place, I take him at his word in the literal sense. Remember, there have been people on this island for a long time, as evidenced by the four toed statue and the pillar we saw tonight. I'd consider that just a glimpse.
Dolphinjen 05-03-2007, 01:56 AM I agree, I think Ben meant it in the sense that it is ancient. Can't wait to see it!
Marcus Antonius 05-03-2007, 01:59 AM okay, maybe i'm getting a little too out there with the timeshifting (i just really like the concept). i wonder what this old place could be then. could they finally be heading underground like everyone has been theorizing?
