Now that Sawyer killed the real Sawyer, is he at that point where he has resolved his issues? Once someone resolves there issues they seem to die?

I don't think that he has resolved his issues, he has so much issues to resolve.

I doubt that Sawyer will die, too good of a character. The writers want to make deaths shocking but not so much that they'd throw a good thing away when they see it!!

Yep. It's a very likely scenerio. He just murdered someone..Just because of childhood memories that may be true or not. Bottom line, Cooper didn't kill Sawyer's family. He was handcuffed and beaten and because of taunting remarks Sawyer kills him. Bad karma......I'd avoid Smokey at all costs.

No, I think killing Cooper guarantees TPTB won't kill off Sawyer. He'll have quite a few issues to work through now, which will take many, many episodes to resolve :)

If he hadn't killed Cooper then he would have been 'redeemed', and his storyline all but over.....prime 'major death' material. Killing Cooper was, in an unfortunate sort of way, a good thing for Sawyer

Killing someone doesn't mean automatic death on the island, even for a Lostie. Sun shot and killed someone, yet she still lives. Charlie killed Ethan, and while he has only escaped death through Desmond's good graces, he still lives.

IMHO it is the lack of remorse for past and present deeds that leads to a visit from smokey. Sawyer vomiting in the jungle is an obvious sign that he found his own actions reprehensible.
