Did "Jacob" summon flight 815 to the island? So that Locke could help him be freed from Ben and the Others control?

This is a good discussion now.

First, we know that Naomi is not an Other. Which means the wreckage of flight 815 is off the coast of Bali. So there is a real possiblity the island is off the coast of Bali, and that the crash was not planned by the Others.

Jacob, then, could have brought it down. The general consensus has been that Desmond's failure to enter the numbers brought it down. That is probably true, but Jacob could be the force behind this failure by influencing Desmond. The computer system, set up by Dharma, constrained Jacob's electromagnetic powers. As a result, Locke was brought to the island.

Then Locke was instrumental in liberating these powers full time by refusing to enter the numbers. How do we explain the crash of Naomi's helicopter?

If Locke survived, he would fully emancipate "help me" Jacob, and the show would be over. But to extend the show for more seasons, it looks like Locke is dead, and Ben remains in full control....

I disagree, this season will play out "the others" to their fullest extent, and we will know everything there is to know about them.

Next season we are moving on to deeper stuff.

I certainly hope so. Just goes to show that our primary attaction to this show at this point are the assortment of unknown mysteries.
