Think about what Ben saw- his Mother/Alpert, when he saw it, and think about how he could possibly take control over the "Hostiles" after they killed everyone. Him being a sudo-member of Dharma

Think about how a plane crashed on the Island with a spinal Surgeon when Ben found out he needed Surgery.

Think about the Ben/Jon dynamic, how Jon was able to bring his Father to the Island.

To put it into more recent terms anyone remember the Twilight Zone Movie where they remade the episode about the boy who could think of anything he wanted.

Or Disney's the Black Hole (eewwww) Sorry but same premise also.
