What does Jack know????

I think he's going to have a lot more to say than any of us realize. He'll then be back in everyone's good graces (including lots of fans  ) and ready to lead the Losties in their showdown with the Others/Hostiles/ex-Dharma. They he can say "you like me, you really like me!" :p

Hehe, I posted this on another thread as a suggestion for some dialogue to follow Jacks "catch up" line in this eppy. I think it is time for the Lostees to SHARE...

Juliet = "I've been sending messages to Ben about which of you girls are pregnant so the Others can come in the night and kidnap yall. Don't get all judgemental on me!"

Sawyer = "I've just been out to the Black Rock to kill Locke's daddy."

Desmond = "I knew the parachutist was coming because I'm a wee bit of a psychic."

Charlie = "The universe has been trying to kill me for weeks."

Sun = "I only have two months to live. It's official, girls - sex kills us!"

Kate = "I can't keep my mouth shut or my legs closed."

Jack = "Juliet, the Other, is my new best friend. We share everything and make secret plans together. But you guys are still, like, my second best friends."

Juliet = "By the way, according to our files, Jack and Claire are brother and sister."

Hurley = "DUDES!!!!"

Jin = "Camping?"

Naomi = "Errr...do you guys want to be rescued or what?"

I disagree. It should have been in the show, and the jacob's ghost scene should have been on Mad-TV.

heh... funny. Now... what if Lost was got a little more racy and... exotic?

Jack: We have some catching up to do... Me and Juliet... We were just in the woods together and we did it. Twice.

Jack holds his TWO FINGERS in front of the Losties.

Sayid: So what? I banged Shannon three times in one hour.

Sawyer: Maybe that's a record in Iraq, but me and Freckles here got down and dirty five times and we did a dirty sanchez. You ever do one of those, Doc?

Jack is silent.

Sawyer: Though so.

Hurley: Oh yeah, well, me and Libby did it... once... I think...

Juliet: Would you like me to give you guys a ruler while your at it?

Charlie: Christ, when am I going to get laid Claire? I've taken care of that sodding baby for months now and you still haven't even at least given me a --

Desmond: Ay, don't worry brotha, tomorrow will be the day.

Heee! Love it. Now it would be really creepy if Desmond had flashes of Charlie and Claire getting it on. Especially if he interrupted them halfway through saying "I think hunting with me would be a better way to spend yer day, Charlie..."

When the Losties began to collectively pressure Jack about his relationship with Juliette, Jack responded by saying: "I think we have some catching up to do". Truer words have never been spoken.

For the last 2+ seasons, the Losties have been keeping secrets from one another and casually forgetting to update one another about new findings. And noone has been worse about it than Jack. And its about time something was done about it. I take it from Jacks statement that the next episode will go a long way to rectifying that communication gap - I fully expect a long overdue heart-to-heart conversation where all the Losties collaborate with one another to share ALL pertinent information about the island. All of the clues that we - the viewers - have been accumulating over the last several months should now become food for thought for the characters of the show. Thats my hope, anyway - that the characters begin to try to make sense of their predicament by sharing their various experiences with one another.

Either that, or this season is going to end with a civil war and two seperate factions of Losties.

lmao as soon as Jack said that the other night, I'm standing up and screaming at the TV "It's about time!!!"

lol

I think it will be a very revealing epi too if, during this little info sharing session, important information is left out by certain Losties. The absence of sharing could tell us, the viewers an awful lot.

I disagree. People in in everyday life don't tell each other everything they do and experience. We select what we feel others should know.

Lost is no different. The Losties only share what they think others should know. And there are examples of them telling each other things that we don't see. For example when Patchy showed up alive during the camping trip none of them met Patchy but all of them knew about him. Pikki are a good example of characters having been told stuff that they weren't privvy to.

This complaint is just being knit-picky.

This whole later half of the third season has been trying to deal with the "no one shares anything" issue.

They had a meeting when Jack first got back, and in Catch-22 and DOC they made abundantly clear that the characters were telling each other things (like about Patchy).

Its not a complaint, mate; its a fact.

The secrets kept by the characters have created animosity between the Losties from day one. Sayid has been guilty of it. Locke has been guilty of it. And above all, Jack has been guilty of it. Now that Jack has finally acknowedged that everyone needs to get together and talk, its safe to assume that many walls are going to be broken down as everyone compares notes. If they ever want to get off the island, thats exactly what they need to do.

If they ever want to get off the island, thats exactly what they need to do.If there is a leadership contingent among the survivors, then it's not a black and white issue when it comes to how much information to reveal to everyone. This is true of any government.

There are times when keeping information from some or all of the camp has made sense.

There's no denying that one of the frequent criticisms by fans of the show is that there is not enough sharing of information going on between the characters. If you go back and look at the episode forums, particularly from Seasons 1 & 2, you will find many threads devoted to these criticisms. The second half of the current season has seen a shift in the tide toward more information being revealed and shared, allbeit still at a measured pace, and the criticism seems to have tapered off. But this has been a fairly common refrain since Day One. When Jack uttered that line in TMBTC, I had to smile because I too felt it was long overdue, as well as another nod to the fans voicing their dislikes on the forums.

I have to agree with this. They were obviously trying to point out to us that information is shared. If we saw them chatting about what we just saw happen every time something happened, well we wouldn't have gotten through Season 1...and how boring would that be. The viewers would be saying well duh, we just saw it and of course you are going to tell other people so we don't need to see it.

Of course they aren't going to share everything either...does everyone remember Ethan...I would be careful who I told what to as well. Keep in mind that while we have gotten to know these characters fairly well and it's been 3 years for us, it's only been 3 months for them.

So as an intelligent person I have always assumed that they shared some information and not other information - hmmm just like in real life. If you are in a leadership situation, you have to know what info to share and what not to. You can't always share everything because the majority of people may not be able to deal with this info properly.

Wouldnt it be funny when their little pow-wow begins, you see a few of the background survivors say:

"While you guys were out playing cowboy and indians, some of us actually made contact with the Hanso Foundation? Did you know that there's a way to contact them? It's all here in one of the books you guys found: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About The Island But Were Afraid To Ask."

But to answer the question, I think what he knows is the basic outline of Ben's plans, and he's going to catch everyone up on what they are and how to fight back (apparently, it involves lots of dynamite). We will get an explanation on why Jack has been so secretive, i.e. what was preventing him form immediately deciding what to do about Ben's raid, and why the distrust in him and Juliet (by both the camp and the viewer) is misplaced.

I still think this is all part of Ben's plans, and that Jack will betray everyone (including Juliet, who is genuinely trying to betray Ben).

I personally don't really have a problem with the lack of communication, but...

If I were trapped on an island with no tv, no cd's. dvd's, ipod, internet, cell phone, email, text messaging or new reading material, I think that talking to other people would be a higher priority than it seems to be with the losties...jeez, what ELSE is there to do besides talk?? You think they'd do a bit more of it just because there's not much else to do.

Comparing how survivors of a plane wreck on Monster & Hallucination Island communicate with each other with how everyday folk communicate is a stretch. I think the story would suffer if everytime they come upon a revelation they had a group meeting about it, but the way the group dynamic is handled on the show is completely unrealistic. They are essentially a bunch of individuals in a life threatening situation acting as if they are on Melrose Place. Hey it makes for a fun show so it doesn't bother me.

I don't think they knew who Patchy was, they just knew he wasn't one of them so he must be an Other.

No, Charlie or Hurley or both knew he was from talking to Kate I think. They knew about his running into the sonic fence too. Anyway someone knew who he was from talking to someone else...they made a point to tell us this and there was something else in the same episode that seemed to explain that the losties do in fact tell each other things.
