What's up with that?

Producers messing with our heads?

Well, they generally only mention things actually pertinent to the episode in the "Previously on Lost." Since Lockewas barely touched on, and played no real part of the story, they didnt waste time on it.

Locke is dying why talk about him. Lets move on with the story.

I don't think he's dead. As for moving on with the story - that would be novel, wouldn't it? I really wish they would, as I'm fed up with filler.

I think they are just building the anticipation for the finale...that would be a big card to play before hand...

There would be no need to tease us needlessly with that, since they didn't address it in the episode.

Ben was showing Locke the mass grave, shooting him, and heading back to his camp at the same time Jack was leading the group of regular losties to the dynamite demonstration. The rest of the day was spent preparing the trap, getting ready to head for the radio tower, Des and Charlie going to the Looking Glass, etc. AND THE DAY ISN'T EVEN OVER YET.

Whatever happens to heal/save Locke, it cannot be allowed to take a few hours? Heck, it took a few days for the Lockedown leg injury to heal! So the Island's powers have different 'take effect' times. We can just imagine Locke lying there in the grave, or trying to get out of it and failing.

BUT IT'S STILL THE SAME DAY HE WAS SHOT, people. Like Richard has said, patience is required. . . .

I knew at the end of Man Behind the Curtain, that dead or alive, we would not see Locke this week. They want us to ache with anticipation.

If he is alive, and the Others have been lead to believe he is dead, he will look like even that much more of a special miracle dude to them if he "returns from the dead."

But the fact that they didn't return to this part of the story is why they didn't refresh us about it during the "previously on Lost" recap.

I feel sure that Alex, having sent Karl on his way to warn the losties, will continue on and find Locke.

I think in the future, if an episode ends w/ a particularly compelling cliffhanger, it may be wise to assume it won't be revisited in the next episode. Those guys just love to torture the fans by stringing us along.

Locke dying plus Charlie dying would equal emotional chaos for viewers...

after that episode, i'm glad they didn't remind us that Lock is lying in a ditch with a fatal gunshot wound it was enough of an emotional rollercoaster with Charlie!
