View Full Version : Rose and Bernard South Shore 05-17-2007, 12:01 AM Hooray! Good to see them all again. And who knew that our dentist was an excellent shot! lostgurl 05-17-2007, 12:03 AM Looks like Claire's taking care of the baby and vincent too. jennylee27 05-17-2007, 12:08 AM Duh, where was Vincent? I didn't notice him. EXCELLENT to see Rose and Bernard again, back to their usual bickering. No Rose, you are right, the Others aren't much like pheasants. Hee! LostLaura 05-17-2007, 12:09 AM Great to have them back. Really missed them. Weird that Bernard is one of the 3 shooters? Usually Sawyer or Kate would volunteer for that job. In fact, I would think it would have been Sayid, Kate and Sawyer being the shooters. Why Jin and Bernard? But any way, good to have the ensemble feel back even if it just at the end of the season. LostLaura 05-17-2007, 12:10 AM I didn't see Vincent either. And oops that I started my own R&B thread. MegletTX 05-17-2007, 12:12 AM I saw Vincent and I started shrieking to my sister "OH MY GOSH LOOK IT'S VINCENT!!" South Shore 05-17-2007, 12:14 AM The shot of Vincent was quick . . . he was on a rope leash on his way to the radio tower with the rest. He looked like the slightly overweight, lovable lab that we remember. Melikon 05-17-2007, 12:20 AM Vincent, I missed him. Did he jump when Rousseau set off the dynamite? It was good to see Rose and Bernard again. I was hoping to get a little info on why they weren't seen the entire season until now...you know, living further down the beach or some such reason. PapaThor 05-17-2007, 12:20 AM It was so good to see Rose and Bernard again. And extra good to see them bickering. Good ol' Bernard - never gets the last word. When will he ever learn? SQT 05-17-2007, 12:21 AM I was wondering that myself. They went to a lot of trouble to show Bernard's capabilities with the target practice scene. I'm surprised that Kate wasn't one of the shooters, even more so than Sawyer. Wasn't she the one who shot the rope holding the net she and Jack got trapped in? (After Jack missed!) Anyway, I got off topic! Rose and Bernard are always a great addition to the show. Bernard really never struck me as a "hunter" type though LOL jennylee27 05-17-2007, 12:25 AM Yeah, it was so great to see them again. They crack me up - such a good depiction of a couple. I could actually buy Bernard as a shooter. He's a wealthy dentist - the type to have free time to pursue a gentleman's sport. Ha! Lunch 05-17-2007, 12:26 AM If they did that to kill either of them, I'm throwing a hissy fit and it's gonna be ugly. silveranswer 05-17-2007, 12:30 AM I LOVE seeing them, it's been too long! also- I think Jin is a shooter because he was in the army, which we found out in DOC lostgurl 05-17-2007, 12:33 AM I was so happy to see them. They crack me up too, love them both. I hope Bernard doesn't get hurt. I couldn't imagine what that would do to Rose. Sawyers Mojito 05-17-2007, 12:37 AM Wasn't she the one who shot the rope holding the net she and Jack got trapped in? (After Jack missed!) it was the other way around ;) Lost Illusion 05-17-2007, 12:51 AM I think its Hurley taking care of Vincent, not Claire Save The Humans 05-17-2007, 12:56 AM Vincent wasn't there in the dynamite demonstration scene. Pheasant. . .ummmmmmmm. . .sounds good, Bernard! Heat up the barbeque! :D Glad ROSE likes Jack better now. I sure don't. But I hear her. At least he was honest with her about their chances being nil if this trap doesn't work. REALLY GLAD Rose and Bernard are back! :clapping: Lost In My Mind 05-17-2007, 01:05 AM Love Rose's new 'do. Very island-friendly :) So glad to see them back! e-sp 05-17-2007, 01:05 AM Hooray! Good to see them all again. And who knew that our dentist was an excellent shot! Yuck. I was hoping the writers had realized how dull and boring they were and wrote them off. lostmio 05-17-2007, 01:08 AM This episode was for those of us who love the characters. I know insiderscoop and others have called it "transitional" and dissed as a build-up to the finale, but in my book, it stands on its own as one of the best ever. Yep, we still care about and look for Rose, Bernard, and Vincent. We love all our Losties and don't fuss over whether Jack or Sawyer is the better person. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Thank you, TPTB... Melissa 05-17-2007, 01:14 AM We saw Vincent after Hurley asked Claire if she needed some help with Aaron. I was excited to see him. I was also excited to see Rose & Bernard. Guess the writers took into account of the fans wondering what happened to them. I didn't realize Bernard would have a big part in this...being one of the shooters. BillToons 05-17-2007, 01:18 AM Bernard and Rose had to do complicated wire unraveling.... in the end they didn't really need the wire but Bernards's excellent shooting skills. Fitting I'd say. TabbyRasa 05-17-2007, 01:23 AM SO glad to see Vincent again! WooHoo!!! dollhouse 05-17-2007, 01:33 AM As the season winds down, it makes sense to me that we would see all the major losties. But I'm worried about Bernard. The focus on him being a good shot seems like a setup. And I don't think the 3rd shooter is Jin; I think it's Sun. :eek2: She shot Colleen, after all. DonWidmore 05-17-2007, 01:44 AM there has been much talk about deaths in these final episodes of Lost and we have serious situations for Charlie and Locke... now Bernard too... verily 05-17-2007, 01:49 AM It was definitely good to see them back. I love how they portray the "old marrieds" even though they've only been married for a short time. I worry about Bernard being one of the snipers though. :frown: visual 05-17-2007, 02:07 AM We hardly knew ya, Bernard. Hes a goner for sure. Charmedfreak 05-17-2007, 02:08 AM So great to see them back, its been way too long. I'm worried about Bernard. Theres a good chance that Sun and Rose will loose a husband, I'm getting that feeling. lonegunwoman 05-17-2007, 02:11 AM I like Rose and Bernard as well. To answer the query mentioned by an earlier poster, why Bernard and not Kate or Sawyer for a shooter, Kate, as a sexually active female, is a target of the attack. The Lostees probably decided to get all the "targets" away from the battle zone and possible capture. OffDmanifest 05-17-2007, 04:48 AM It was fun to see Bernard, Rose and Vincent! I guess we could suppose that on the trek, Claire had Rose babysitting? Rose cracks me up! I loved her comment to Bernard that went something like: Well, if you're going to be hiding in the bushes lets go get something dark for you to wear. (paraphrase because I don't have it recorded) Remus Lupin 05-17-2007, 08:32 AM :24: Rose and Bernard! Man, they rock! I loved the wire-tying scene and Rose's line to Jack was GOLD: "I like you better now that you're back: you're almost an optimist" :24: lostlocke 05-17-2007, 08:34 AM I almost forgot what they looked like they have been gone so long!! It was good seeing them again. Looks like they will have a part in the finale too. pascalephoto 05-17-2007, 09:10 AM Let me get this straight. Rose and Bernard were not replaced by Nikki and Pallo in some time shifting, hatch explosion type thing. Lost-I-Am 05-17-2007, 09:23 AM im sorry but i like rose and bernard but was not satisfied with how they were reintroduced.... at least have them make up a story of being away from the island to have some quiet time or something i just didnt like it how rose said she like jack better now that he was back, i yelled at the tv saying :ive seen more of jack since he's been back than you" lol i know i know i just dont like gaps but lost is full of them... in-the-snowglobe 05-17-2007, 10:05 AM It was fun to see Bernard, Rose and Vincent! I guess we could suppose that on the trek, Claire had Rose babysitting? Rose cracks me up! I loved her comment to Bernard that went something like: Well, if you're going to be hiding in the bushes lets go get something dark for you to wear. (paraphrase because I don't have it recorded) Actually, I believe her exact quote was "we're going to have to get you into something dark" - which is a nice double-entendre. I like to think she was talking about a little Rose/Bernard private time in their tent before separating. ;) (Of course maybe I should just get my mind out of the gutter...) Lost_In_NJ 05-17-2007, 10:18 AM Not only Rosie and Bernie, but Vinny too!!!!! What a happy reunion :) South Shore 05-17-2007, 10:22 AM Actually, I believe her exact quote was "we're going to have to get you into something dark" - which is a nice double-entendre. I like to think she was talking about a little Rose/Bernard private time in their tent before separating. ;) (Of course maybe I should just get my mind out of the gutter...) I also immediately thought that it was an amusing, well-placed double entendre! Kate731 05-17-2007, 10:42 AM It was great to see them again, definitely. So many people reappeared in this episode, which was great. I'm scared for Bernard though, I was really surprised he volunteered to stay behind as a shooter. He never seemed like the life-risking, leader-type in season 2, so good for him. Actually, I believe her exact quote was "we're going to have to get you into something dark" - which is a nice double-entendre. I like to think she was talking about a little Rose/Bernard private time in their tent before separating. ;) (Of course maybe I should just get my mind out of the gutter...) Lol, I never thought of it that way, but you could be right. piscescat 05-17-2007, 10:53 AM Rose & Bernard! They seem to bring back everyone for the finale sequences. When did Rose have time to have braids put in? I'd love to see these actors in their own sit-com - not as Rose & Bernard but different characters. They have great chemistry. As for Bernard and Jin and Sayid as the shooters... well, isn't it refreshing to see someone else get to do something besides Jack, Kate & Sawyer? Good to spread the jobs around, you know? And screen time. But I worry about their safety. If some Losties have to die then some Others better die too! LostMyMarbles 05-17-2007, 11:14 AM I'm always happy to see Rose and Bernard, but I think their reintroduction so close to the Final Battle does not bode well, particularly for Bernard. Fans have to be reintroduced to the couple so they'll care when . . . . razzie33 05-17-2007, 11:20 AM Love Rose's new 'do. Very island-friendly :) So glad to see them back! ha that's the first thing I said - she must have gone to the same hair stylist that cut Claire's bangs lol molly1977 05-17-2007, 11:39 AM Actually, I believe her exact quote was "we're going to have to get you into something dark" - which is a nice double-entendre. I like to think she was talking about a little Rose/Bernard private time in their tent before separating. ;) (Of course maybe I should just get my mind out of the gutter...) I certainly hope that they get some quality time together before Rose must depart with the rest of them. It was so awesome to see Rose and Bernard. Bernard is such a whipped man, he loves Rose so much he will do anything she says. No bones there about who wears the pants. I love that Rose can put Jack in his place and is not impressed by him. Who knew Bernard was such a good shot? Rock on Bernard!!! jennylee27 05-17-2007, 11:44 AM So many Rose and Bernard fans! I'm going to have to dig up the link to their old ship... 100% Here it is! True Love Doesn't Need a Catchy Title (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=22439) Jack Sawyer 05-17-2007, 12:14 PM We hardly knew ya, Bernard. Hes a goner for sure. Sad to say, but I thought that too... netduo 05-17-2007, 12:23 PM Best line of the episode award goes to Rose... Her coment about liking the new Jack had me rolling on the floor laughing. Kudos to the writers on that one! finks213 05-17-2007, 12:31 PM I think they brought them back just to kill one or both of them.... They've obviously served what little purpose they were going to bring to the show... South Shore 05-17-2007, 12:34 PM I think they brought them back just to kill one or both of them.... They've obviously served what little purpose they were going to bring to the show... I agree that Bernard may meet his demise in the finale. As for Rose, I disagree that she's brought little to the show. She is important if only that her cancer disappeared on the island. caforrest2047 05-17-2007, 12:36 PM Great to have them back. Because Jin has to protect Sun, and think about why Bernard would stay to be the shooter, there is a certain reason he can't leave the island. sam59 05-17-2007, 12:39 PM Did anyone see the CTV promo? Rose is upset because they only hear two of the three expected explosions. I wondered if they weren't leading us to assume that it will be Bernard that won't survive so it's a big surprise when it's someone else. ----- BoogaFrito 05-17-2007, 06:56 PM And I don't think the 3rd shooter is Jin; I think it's Sun. :eek2: She shot Colleen, after all.I seriously doubt they'd let the pregnant woman be one of the shooters. Steve L 05-17-2007, 08:40 PM Am I the only one who thinks Rose is a self righteous, selfish person? Theres 3 people I want dead in Lost, her, Charlie and Claire. Please take at least one of them in the season finale! Charmedfreak 05-18-2007, 01:31 AM I agree that Bernard may meet his demise in the finale. As for Rose, I disagree that she's brought little to the show. She is important if only that her cancer disappeared on the island. Yeah Rose is pretty important, well to me shes an original lostie, she was in the Pilot. But I reckon if they were to kill off one of them it will be Bernard, I think Rose is more popular than Bernard. Did anyone see the CTV promo? Rose is upset because they only hear two of the three expected explosions. I wondered if they weren't leading us to assume that it will be Bernard that won't survive so it's a big surprise when it's someone else. Yeah I think they want us to think Bernard, considering hes the most likely to die and wlel its not a regular character, but if it was Jin or Sayid its more shocking, Bernard wouldn't shock anyone. CountChocula 05-18-2007, 01:35 AM I think it's apparent that Bernard gets killed off in the finale. Gobi-1 05-18-2007, 01:47 AM If Bernard is killed off then the whole Tail Section survivors subplot would have been basically pointless since all those characters will be dead. Although Cindy and the kids were taking by the Others. BoogaFrito 05-18-2007, 01:01 PM If Bernard is killed off then the whole Tail Section survivors subplot would have been basically pointless since all those characters will be dead. The characters don't have to survive to have an effect on the story. They only need contribute something lasting to the plot. (Like Ana Lucia killing Shannon, I guess?) On the other hand, there's Nikki & Paulo, who contributed nothing to the story and ultimately were pointless. Tarkus 05-18-2007, 01:50 PM I seriously doubt they'd let the pregnant woman be one of the shooters. Plus, Sun is one of women that Ben wants to take. No way that Jin or anyone else would let her stay behind to be a shooter. polusmaximus 05-18-2007, 04:51 PM I was wondering that myself. They went to a lot of trouble to show Bernard's capabilities with the target practice scene. I'm surprised that Kate wasn't one of the shooters, even more so than Sawyer. Wasn't she the one who shot the rope holding the net she and Jack got trapped in? If the Other are coming for the women, I dont think it would make sense to leave some behind. just saying alwaysI'mlost 05-19-2007, 10:07 AM I was thinking one of them would be killed after this reintroduction after so long out of sight... baron_kalan 05-19-2007, 10:04 PM It IS weird that Jin and Bernard stayed behind, and not Sawyer and Kate (especially as Sawyer usually never misses the chance to shoot at people!! And Kate always want to take part to the action!!). We don't really know why Kate and Sawyer didn't stay behind so I guess either Bernard or Jin or both (or even Sayid perhaps) will die... Did anyone think that Rose was out of character in this episode? I would have thought that the idea of her husband being responsible for the deaths of other human beings, even though they are evil, would disgust her. I always thought she respected life and wouldn't want to be responsible for a massacre! Even for her own protection... HeadFirstForHalos 05-21-2007, 07:18 PM Seeing them made me all happy and nostalgic. |
