Sayid thinks he can contact Naomi's ship with the phone except Rouseau's signal is blocking it. When he suggests shutting it off, Juliet assures him that won't work because Ben is jamming every signal off the island except for the Others' signals.

Rouseaus signal was heard on the island. Wouldn't Ben's jamming have prevented that? Or does Ben's jamming only affect reception off the island?

Radio experts: Was Juliet lying?

Looks like she's been lying and perhaps even signalled Ben that he needed to
come a day earlier.

I wondered about that too but don't know enough about radio waves to make a judgement. As far as signalling Ben, Ben just freaked out by the Locke/Jacob thing and he moved up the timetable because he's afraid of what Locke/Jacob might do.

I'd like to know if Ben hs always been jamming the signals or if he started just after the hatch implosion
