Do we know where Sayid got the map? Did he get it when he was in Othersville? That's the only explanation I can come up with. If so, why is this the first we've heard of it?

It was presumably in the batch he rescued from the Flame before Locke performed his customary farewell ceremony.

Before Locke blew up Flame in "Enter 77". I think...

As soon as I saw that map I was like, 'where did that come from?!?!?!'

I'm guessing Sayid took it when he was in The Flame. Have we seen that map before?

I was wondering the same thing. I did not notice when or how he came into possesion of the Looking Glass Station maps....

Anyone care to take a guess???

Ahh...so presumably it was in that stack of crap from the Flame.... rriigghhtt.... I don't know. Plausible....but I'd still like to definatively know where they came from.

I thought that somewhere in Sawyer's library was a Frommer's Guide to Hatches.

And maybe the props dept had something to do with it too (grin).

I am most certain that it came from The Flame. He took loads of books/diagrams from The Flame before Locke blew it up. He had a map of Othersville, I bet he was smart enough to take anything that looked like a map from the basement of the Flame.

I thought the same exact thing!!
My reaction was WTH!
He had that since the Flame and said nothing to anyone?

I'm wondering how Sayid wasn't smart enough to put 2 and 2 together and figure out that the mysterious cable that led to the ocean was the "Looking Glass" hatch. I mean he knew about the cable and the blueprints clearly show hatch being underwater. You've disappointed me Sayid. :frown:

I am just going to assume that it was in that suffed to the gills backpack that Sayid had along with the C4 that Locke used to blow up the sub.
I still dont get why the Others didnt search thru it though. Maybe because Ben (or Jacob) didnt see it at first to order the Others to look in it?

Maybe they did see it, and Ben:
1. realized that someone from the losties would try to get to LGH
2. told Juliet about it, expecting her to tell Jack
3. has laid a trap, that Charlie fell into

BTW, why is called "Looking Glass Hatch" on the diagram, when "hatch" is a word that Locke made up before he knew that the hatchway led to a Dharma station? Wouldn't it be called "Looking Glass Station"?

Didn't he also grab some stuff from Rousseau's hideout? And it seems like Sayid also had some documents from the Flame too. I think he's basically the group's Intel man - if he sees something that looks important, he snatches it up.
