Maybe Ben assumes Kate is preg because she and Sawyer got together. Or maybe there's some 'extra' who is preg that we haven't seen.

I think the three marked tents were Sun's, Kate's, and Claire's.

One who is pregnant, one who might be pregnant, and one with a baby all ready.

They could be assuming Kate is pregnant, but that only gives us two out of three. Maybe Juliet was going to mark her tent in order to get more Others blown to kingdom come.

Or, could Jack and Juliet have gotten so close that they got a little action together? That is certainly a very long shot, but figured I would throw it out there and see what everyone says.

I think Juliette is to smart to give herslef a death sentence, when she wants off the island so badly.

Also Claire isn't pregnant.

From what we've seen it may not be an unreasonable thought. Of the main female characters, we know that Sun, Kate, Ana-Lucia, and Shannon have had sex on the island. It doesn't seam a stretch to assume that Nikki and maybe even Rose have as well. That leaves Claire and Libby as the only main female characters that survived the crash that we don't know about. Now apply that ratio to the other 20 or so female background characters we've never met, a probable lack of birth control, and three months on the island and you might have a few pregnant women!

Don't forget "Tracy (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Tracy)", the woman whose letter home Sawyer read out loud on the raft at the end of Season 1. Sawyer mentioned she was shacking up with Steve Jenkins (despite being married).

So when the hell is doctor Jack going to do the right thing and warn his lady patients that to have unprotected sex is a life style choice that could kill them?

The beach women are at risk of their lives and they aren't being told. :mad: Shame on you Doc Shady. I'll be interested to hear you defend yourself over this.

Anyone see any Dharma branded condoms on that pallett? - because I didn't. In fact ...I'll bet they were all removed along with the hair and tooth brushes. ;)

Sometimes I think it would be just so easy for the writers to clear up the "population" issue. Ben could say, "Hey they only have 40 people, and we have 300." We haven't seen either bunch really standing around so they can be clearly counted. The extras are very much in the background, but there are definitely women of child-bearing age. They are at least fertile.

After this amount of time, the folks that don't go running through the forest every week probably have gatherings, cliques, maybe even "fun with crafts" classes. There would be women's groups that Juliet could spy on, plenty of news that women (and men) would be sharing.

Juliet had her book club - have we seen those people again? They are not out camping. None of them looked like the rugged core group of Others ready to kick butt.

Also, at first didn't Ben say "bring all the women back"-- and now he's saying "bring all the pregnant women back" ?? Ben sends out 10 of his best men to grab them? Heck, I'm not sure I even saw 10 men standing around in the scenes.

I was totally looking for a thread like this. I was wondering if we had any evidence of more than one pregnant woman, and why would Julliet mark 3 tents. Does she know that there are 3 pregnant women but we just dont' know that yet.

As far as I can tell, we only know for sure that Sun is pregnant. The rest is completely speculative. Please correct me if I missed something.

Sun is the only pregnnt woman of which we know. Juliet marked Sun's tent and two other random ones.

Ben might want other women for testing purposes, even if they are not yet pregnant.

I think they are marking three tents to seperate the others into smaller groups and kill more with the dynamite! It has nothing to do with any actual pregnant women.

Is it possible that the unknown "thing" that happened to Kate when they were first captured by the Others, after her little date with Ben on the beach, was an insemination of some sort? If they are still trying to figure out how to keep pregnant woman alive on the island, they would probably like the test subjects of the crash survivors, instead of using their own women, considering the historical deathly outcome.
At that point, they couldn't have known that Kate would hook up with Sawyer, so that was maybe an added little bonus attempt at getting Kate knocked up. Just a thought from a lurker.....

What if Rose were pregnant? Sure she's way too old to have a baby but the island does strange things to a body.
