Please try to keep the posts topicy and have something more to say besides "Look at what Kate did!!!!" or "OMG!!!". Enjoy!!! Marcus 05-17-2007, 11:21 PM Okay, is it just CTV's stupid programming or did the episode start late on ABC as well? I checked 20 mins ago and CTV was airing "Grey's Anatomy"! And naturally they just have to override ABC's broadcast... Save The Humans 05-17-2007, 11:23 PM It started at 15 after. Darlton DOES say that we'll be seeing who THEY WILL BECOME as well as who they were and are. So the future may well come into play, here. Dezdmona 05-17-2007, 11:23 PM Yea, the Grey's Season Finale ran 15 mins long...how dare them. KeepingAwake 05-17-2007, 11:23 PM It began at 10:15 in teh US. Grey's was longer than normal. tomtalkin 05-17-2007, 11:23 PM Time Warner cable had it listed as starting at 10:15 Dezdmona 05-17-2007, 11:25 PM Jack does belive in Destiny...he just doesn't know it yet. I think Locke's words may actually prove to be prophetic. CrimsonRabbit 05-17-2007, 11:26 PM Might as well call it "LOST: Spelling It Out" Also: "the most important hatch" is The Swan. 100% Darlton's talking REALLY fast. Dezdmona 05-17-2007, 11:27 PM So the crash was NOT welcome news to the Others... Didn't Ben say something about "maybe there's a pregnant woman on that plane"? Save The Humans 05-17-2007, 11:37 PM Ah. The Desmond section! Hatch--key--flashes--Charlie--Penny. Very good. But Darlton still said "we don't know" what Smokey is, the sneakies! I can see where there are breaks in the story they are telling. Editing for the 15 minutes they couldn't show. So we see a more smoother narration on Wednesday, when we have the whole hour, I hope! I see where they are again reminding us of the Jack-Locke conflict. Means they're setting us up for more, of course, or they'd not be reminding us! ;) They're glossing over how Jack's been treating Kate with this "he hasn't given up on" her business. Do they really think we'll forget, just cuz they say so? KeepingAwake 05-17-2007, 11:38 PM So the crash was NOT welcome news to the Others... Didn't Ben say something about "maybe there's a pregnant woman on that plane"? I think he said that to manipulate Juliet when she wanted to go home. 100% So Jack hasn't given up on Kate? Guess there's no triangle otherwise. Dezdmona 05-17-2007, 11:44 PM ISo Jack hasn't given up on Kate? Guess there's no triangle otherwise. In the preview for next weeks show he says to her: I love you lostgurl 05-17-2007, 11:44 PM We found out who Kate chooses.. "or at least who she sleeps with first." MegletTX 05-17-2007, 11:45 PM Well I don't think they've told us anything NEW so it isn't quite spelling it out...I think they're just kind of confirming what we THINK we know eh? usnbostx2 05-17-2007, 11:45 PM Darlton said....definitively, Desmond not hitting the button in time is what crashed flight 815. There was some controversy on here about why 815 crashed, guess this wraps it up. MinnieVanMommie 05-17-2007, 11:46 PM I always love these showxs...they normally show some kind of insight we missed....I jusy got to my hotel. I am away..but still watching this...lol MegletTX 05-17-2007, 11:47 PM HAHA!!! Meteor, meteorite...it's all the same. ;) sickotriz 05-17-2007, 11:47 PM I wonder if any of the definitive answers that Damon/Carlton are giving will put a stop to some of the crazy conspiracy theories out there? I can dream, can't I? MegletTX 05-17-2007, 11:49 PM Well it should end the whole "why did 815 crash" conspiracy theory section right? CrimsonRabbit 05-17-2007, 11:50 PM Damon: "The whole island is the Magic Box." MinnieVanMommie 05-17-2007, 11:50 PM what answers have they given??? I just got here... MegletTX 05-17-2007, 11:53 PM In no particular order here is what I've gotten: 1. 815 really crashed because of Desmond NOT pushing the button 2. The whole island is the magic box 3. Jacob exists Save The Humans 05-17-2007, 11:54 PM Well, OF COURSE it is! Not too bad. But a lot has to be left out. Too much has happened, and there's only so much time in the show. sickotriz 05-17-2007, 11:54 PM I missed it, but a friend called and said that they said something like, "the magnetic pulse caused when Desmond didn't push the button caused the plane to crash. end of story." I CrimsonRabbit 05-17-2007, 11:54 PM what answers have they given??? I just got here... I think the show is more for the casual fan who doesn't pay as close attention. They're connecting plot points and offering contexts... nothing new for us. As was said above they're more confirming what many have already just thought was probably true. MinnieVanMommie 05-17-2007, 11:54 PM they are still leaving the locke thing open..sheeshhhhhhhhh!!!!! MegletTX 05-17-2007, 11:55 PM 4. They Are Really Alive! Dezdmona 05-17-2007, 11:55 PM Somewhere...in the space-time continuum. sickotriz 05-17-2007, 11:55 PM "They are not in purgatory. They are not ghosts. They are alive, living and breathing somewhere in the space-time continuum" MinnieVanMommie 05-17-2007, 11:56 PM thanks guys...I cant wait for the summer to analyse things,,..lol I hate all these open threads and need to have my small fun group back...lol KeepingAwake 05-18-2007, 12:00 AM Carlton: The island has given every character a chance to reinvent themselves. That change, in the end, will really be what the show is all about. Save The Humans 05-18-2007, 12:01 AM This will rerun before the finale airs. . .and the ending is a very good lead-in to it! See ya guys on the boards! MinnieVanMommie 05-18-2007, 12:02 AM ok but if they are changing they cant die???/ what would be the point than???? sickotriz 05-18-2007, 12:02 AM Wow, that was quite a ride! I started watching only half way through, but they seem to have done an excellent job in summing up what we have seen so far, the major themes of this show, gave a couple of definitive answers (stuff we already knew but people refuse to believe for whatever reason ie conspiracy plane crash theories, purgatory, jacob not being real), and really just made an awesome recap. Kudos to them, hopefully they show it again before the finale! KeepingAwake 05-18-2007, 12:03 AM ok but if they are changing they cant die???/ what would be the point than???? Interesting question, They can redeem themselves and still die though, like if Charlie dies bringing rescue to Claire and Aron. :frown: Or they can die not having met their goals. MinnieVanMommie 05-18-2007, 12:04 AM yes they should show it again...lol I hope that my tv tivoed it!!!! I missed some of the show trying to get onto the hotel internet...lol Babydoll 05-18-2007, 12:12 AM Yah, that kind of stuck with me too.."somewhere in the space time continuum." CrimsonRabbit 05-18-2007, 12:12 AM yes they should show it again...lol It'll replay at 8:00 before the Finale, probably with 15 more minutes. (Though it feels like they just cut the commercial breaks down to one or two per break. There could be the same content just with more commercials.) PapaThor 05-18-2007, 12:12 AM Interesting question, They can redeem themselves and still die though, like if Charlie dies bringing rescue to Claire and Aron. :frown: Or they can die not having met their goals. Maybe that's the point. Redeeming yourself and dying (in the process) are not mutually exclusive. Maybe they did meet their goals - without knowing it - and still died. MinnieVanMommie 05-18-2007, 12:19 AM but if they didnt kmnow it than they wouldnt have redeemed themselves... oceanic_lisa 05-18-2007, 12:20 AM It'll replay at 8:00 before the Finale, probably with 15 more minutes. (Though it feels like they just cut the commercial breaks down to one or two per break. There could be the same content just with more commercials.) That's what I assumed, that the show before the finale will just have more commercials. I'd be surprised if there was more content actually but I guess we'll see. kaliberknl 05-18-2007, 12:27 AM Sayid was pretty much MIA here... Marcus 05-18-2007, 12:52 AM Thanks everyone for confirming that it started 15 mins late, and for confirming that it will air next week prior to the finale! torb28 05-18-2007, 01:43 AM The one thing I came away from this show with, and I have to admit it kinda bothers me, is that so many of the storylines and connections we've speculated about on these boards seem to be mere coincidence. No big plan, no intricate interweaving plots, just random instances. The plane crashed because Desmond didn't push the button just as the plane entered proximity of the island. No conspiracy, just a coincidence. (By the way how does an EM burst frying the plane's equipment lead to it spliting apart in midair?) The crossovers of characters in each others' flashbacks, pure happenstance. No large plan by the writers. Just disjointed events presented in a manner that leaves room for the viewer to imagine that they are somehow connected. I would like to think the writers have a much more creative masterplan to explain these happenings other than pure coincidence, but tonights show left me with the impression that they do not. I have read some very clever and artistic theories on these boards that to me would be far more fulfilling than that. |
