Yea Hurley!! I was glad that they finally gave Hurley a good storyline, and allow him to be the hero for a change. It was about time.

I almost fell off my chair when Hurley came flyin through the camp in that damn VW bus. hahaha that. was. awesome. A total surprise. I was hoping he would kick some butt after Sawyer tried to send him away.

I think they've been taking too many cheap shots at hurley...about...you cant come - you're too fat!
Well who saved the shooters? Not Sawyer! Not Juliet! The big man saved the day!
GO HURLEY! You're the man, Dude!

OMG, that was awesome! The only moment in the episode where I couldn't stop laughing. I am so glad that Hurley got to be one of the heroes. That was great.

Hurley speeding up in the Dharma-mobile was definitely the best moment of the show!

I loved his threats to the Others on the walkie talkie. That was brilliant. "Hey, Others!"

At the time, I was terrified Hurley was going to die, but know that I know he's safe, I can appreciate that scene for what it was: awesome! I thought it was great they managed to bring the bus back - so it wasn't just a one episode throw-away - and as penumbra said, his taunting on the walkie was great!

I love Hurley!

Poor Hurley. Told by Charlie that he couldn't go on the boat last episode, and told by Sawyer that his XXL red shirt would get them killed this week. Tonight, he saves the day and delivers the DHARMA beer in one fell swoop. Good stuff.

Sawyer beig mean to Hurley was like Sawyer being mean to Kate - to keep them from going into danger, it was his twisted way of trying to protect them

what's cool is that the two "sidekicks" Hurley AND Charlie, to the feuding "leaders" of Jack and Sawyer, were BOTH the ultimate heroes this ep

It was a fun scene, but are all our losties the victems of his bad luck curse because they're getting off the island? Jack's not in such a good place since he got off.

I cheered out loud! I shouted HURLEY IN THE BUS! HURLEY IN THE FREAKIN' BUS! Then, before Sawyer can shoot guy #2, Sayid breaks his neck WITH HIS FREAKIN' FEET! And then Sawyer shoots Tom! I was on my feet! Okay, so I felt a twinge over Tom, but I think Sawyer saying "I didn't believe him" was probably the most sensible line in the entire series. That, and Rose saying "Jack, if you say 'Live together, die alone,' I'm going to punch you in the face."

really quite simple for hurley. As a ninja assasin you are taught how to use a vehicle as a weapon.. Ooops, i just revealed that spoiler.. well for those of you that want to know... in a season 7 (zombie spinoff season) flashback we see hurley was trained to be a cia ninja assasin. yep. all true

Yeah, I think I definitley threw my hands in the air and shouted something stupid like "OMG HURLEY RULES!"

I just realized, this was the first time Hurley ever killed someone... directly anyways

Hurley's Tha Man! I know Charlie and Sawyer were trying to keep him safe but they should've trusted Hugo's spryness. ;) We cracked up laughing when he came rumblin' through the camp and nailed Pryce with the bus!!!! Way to go, Hugo!!!!

Yeah, totally... 2 heroes in one episode!!! Can't beat that with a stick!!

Now that comic relief number two is gone (Charlie), Hugo is invincible as the only real comic relief. And no way could they bring in another guy to cheer everyone up and make people laugh this late in the series.

I too was cracking up when I heard the bus coming through the forest. However, I think the important point to take away from this scene was how much Hurleys character has grown since the beginning of the series. Instead of letting everyone get him down, Hurley was strong enough to not only take the criticism, but to actually act on his own to become the hero.

Sawyer didn't realize that Hurley has something that he (Sawyer) does not; an abundance of imagination. Hurley thought fast, used the bus (since he knew he could not compete physically with four armed men), and saved the day.

I felt bad for him too, but I think that those who told him to go away (Jack, Charlie, Sawyer) were only really trying to look out for his safety and best interests. I was SO happy to see him plowing onto the beach and saving the day!! GO HUGO!!!

Hurley's heroics were the only thing I actually "called" correctly while watching. After the poor guy gut turned away from helping for the second week in a row (poor Hurley!) I though- now watch him turn out to be the hero of the whole episode, and he was! I loved that moment.

Being on the island is an us or them situation. I don't know why Tom didn't actually kill Sayid, Jin and Bernard, but I'm glad that he didn't. They were still in danger though and were captured by the others. Hurley is definitely a hero!

Nice job Hurley... I love that when Pryce started shooting, Hurley didn't waiver, but, instead accelerated right into him, over him and through him. YAY HURLEY!!!!!!!!! Then to add a cherry on top, his conversation on the walkie with Jack was priceless!!!! I re-watched on the DVR 3 times!!!!!

It was just a perfect scene! And the irony of using a Dharma bus to run down the Others. I think there will be some real bonding between Sawyer, Hurley, Jin, and Sayid next season. And Desmond when he gets back to shore.

Don't you think that Hurley knows that Charlie will probably die? His look out at the ocean when Claire asks about Charlie on the walkie talkie said it all.

Hurley Rocks!! He's a little younger and able to think out of the box..... what a great scene. We were all cheering and laughing! Boom! I loved how they showed the body fly up into the air. Very satisfying!

I don't think Hurley is a killer but this was an exception because he was defending his friends, and even himself in the bigger picture. The Legend of Hurley will be told to the children of the Losties....

Hurley once again proved that he is a hero. He has consistently shown his fellow survivors the stuff he is made with only to be tossed down by the A-Team time and again. Hurley has more heart and courage than the rest of them, with the exception of Charlie (they are about equal) and really proved that last night. He is the best reason to watch the show.

Hey, I don't make out in Permium Economy with just anyone!!

Am I the only one who thought it was Smokey rumbling in the jungle, either coming to the Losties' rescue, or just making its rounds, or did anyone else get that impression, too. For me, it made it all the better/cooler/funnier when this VW Bus comes crashing through the trees onto the beach with Hurley at the wheel.

Sawyer didn't realize that Hurley has something that he (Sawyer) does not; an abundance of imagination. Hurley thought fast, used the bus (since he knew he could not compete physically with four armed men), and saved the day.
Which really underscored another more subtly funny part of the scene: Sawyer casting around for someone to kill and not being able to find anyone. Hurley killed Ryan, so Sawyer trains his gun on Other Redshirt, only to have Sayid break his neck before he can shoot him. He actually almost looked disappointed. No wonder he shot Tom -- Tom the only one left for him to kill!

It was cool..but at the same time...he killed someone.
I don't think Hurley is a killer but this was an exception because he was defending his friends
...And he immediately questioned Sawyer's killing Tom. Sure, he did what had to be done, but he didn't relish the killing.

I cheered out loud! I shouted HURLEY IN THE BUS! HURLEY IN THE FREAKIN' BUS!

For me it was "YESSS!" with both fists in the air. Pryce has a big "VW" imprinted in his chest for all time. Actually, "WV". Thankyou Hurley!

Then, before Sawyer can shoot guy #2, Sayid breaks his neck WITH HIS FREAKIN' FEET!

Dont mess with this guy! I turned to my nephew and said "Jackie Chan could'nt do that!"

I thought the look on Sawyer's face was priceless when Sayid broke that guys neck with his hands literally tied behind his back. Sawyer must have been thinking "Sayid, you are one bad dude. And Hurley, thanks for bringing the beer."

05-24-2007, 01:08 PM
Yeah, I love that the next thing we see Sawyer doing, when Jack and Hurley are talking on the walkie, is drinking a beer. Perfect.

And I also love how Hurley makes a point of saying, not once but twice, how it was he that saved the day. Way to take the people who didn't believe in you and rub their noses in it, dude!

The moment when the hippie van came crashing through the underbrush with Hugo at the wheel was one of my favorite moments of the entire finale!

Although he's an unlikely hero, Hurley faced his fears and his critics... all to save his friends. The rest of the Losties may not have had faith in him and his abilities to contribute in a crisis situation, but he had faith in himself. I love that. ;) His character has come a long way since the beginning.

You know what? Even with all the poignant, dramatic, pivotal, important dramatic stuff that happened in this episode, like Charlie dying and like Alex and Danielle meeting, to name but two, I have to say that, for me, the best line of the entire brilliant finale was:

"Attention, Others! Come in, Others!"

:rotflmao2: ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

First of all, I agree with you that it was a splendiferous moment when Hurley came barrelling through the jungle in the VW van! Wu HUUUUUUUU, Hurley! He surely showed James just how NOT useless he is! Way to go!!!!!!!

But, oh my, that "Attention, Others! Come in, Others!" was not only one of my fave lines of the night, but it is one of my fave lines of the entire series!

Hurley is absolutely wonderful in every conceivable way. I love him!
