Was it just me or did it look like Kate had lost her freckles in the flashback/flashforward may of just been make up but her face definitely seemed different.

it looked like they airbrushed her for some reason. I'm an editor and I definitely noticed some After Effects hijinks going on

For me that was the oddest part of the episode. Even odder than the game changing snake in the mailbox ending.

I noticed this too, she seemed to glow almost. I began to wonder if Jack was imagining her. :)

P.S. This may have been to show us that she hasn't been in the island sun for a while; that she looks different than Island Kate. My freckles always fade in the winter.

Good point but in all her flash backs even when shes with a guy and living with him and leading a somewhat normal life she still has the very noticeable freckles. Its kinda shocking actually she really didn't look Kate like without them.

IIRC, Sawyer didn't use any nicknames. I remember him calling Hurley "Hugo". Maybe it's one of the ways he's changed after the black rock.

I also find it kinda interesting that earlier in the episode Kate said to Sawyer "since when do you call me Kate anyway?" instead of the usual freckles. Lo and behold at the end of the episode she had no freckles. I just get this feeling its somehow connected to Sawyer and his wellbeing.

Just make up, IMO. I have freckles like her (maybe even more in the summer) and if I want to I can cover them completely (usually don't though.)

I think its just the make up. But I did notice Sawyer not using nicknames, but I chalked it up to his experience at Black Rock.

In magazine pictures and even on the red carpet, Evie usually doesn't have her freckles showing because of make up, so I assume it is heavy make up. Though I agree with everyone else - it seemed to stand out a lot.

No offence to Evangeline but i think that with all that make-up on she didn't look as good.

I read an article on DarkUFO's site that contained a theory that her freckles didn't exist anymore from a change that was made in the past or future desmond-style. I like this theory, but sure it could just be the make-up thing ;)
