View Full Version : Dharma wants their island back?
capper 05-24-2007, 05:26 AM what about the thought that Naomi, the Arctic guys are from Dharma (that's why Ben doesn't want to get in contact with them) and that they want revenge for what happened in the past. They've been looking for the island for years and now that they found it thanks to Desmond. That would mean Penny has ties with Dharma too. The Widmore family was mentioned in the Lost Experience if I remember correctly.
But..... then again she said she didn't know Naomi in her transmission. And if they were Dharma, what about the food drops? They must know where the island is at still with the current food drop last season.
ouch.. I need some Tylenol :drowsy: well technically its the hostile's island, not Dharma's... or maybe the ppl who built those ruins were the original inhabitants and the hostiles were like the Dharma folks trying to take over the island... ahhhhhhhh
Occono 05-24-2007, 05:31 AM I don't like them throwing this in when we still don't understand how Penny knew how to look for Desmond, but regardless...
Yeah, that makes sense. Someone allegedly "in" with things said Naomi's in a DHARMA "Hit Squad"
capper 05-24-2007, 05:35 AM it would of sort of make sense too because Ben said if Naomi contacts her people, every living thing on the island would die. Dharma wants to purge them... just like what the hostiles did... hence ben saying "history is about to repeat itself". I don't know... I need to rewatch the episode again
CountChocula 05-24-2007, 05:36 AM Have they ever addressed the season 2 finale where the polar guys called Penny, because the buttons weren't pressed? I think that's still a loose end.
j_bird 05-24-2007, 05:39 AM If Naomi's boat was a Dharma boat, wouldn't they already be able to locate the island on their own? They made food drops and everything, so why wouldn't they have known where the island was?
nofaith 05-27-2007, 03:31 PM I agree that Naomi and her people could be Dharma. They're trying to reclaim their island which has been impossible to find since the hostiles killed all of their people.
I think the Arctic guys are Penny's people (clearly since they called her), but I don't think Penny knows what to look for because she's involved with Dharma. I think Desmond going back in time was real and the conversation he had with his friend in the bar really happened. Because of that conversation, his friend told Penny once Desmond had actually disappeared.

Sharp observation, however did Desmond tell his friend about turning the key I can't remember, and if so would this friend know enough to tell Penny to look for an electro-magnetic anomoly?
PapaThor 05-27-2007, 05:09 PM We know that Hanso has been "under new management" from The Lost Experience and that they are probably coming to the Island to reclaim it.
I predict that when the new season starts, that one of the first things we discover is that some very bad people are coming to the Island. Ben explains all to everyone present - while still tied to the tree. The explaination will put a "cap" on the previous seasons as the "Losties" begin a new chapter in their collective lives.
And then there is "Penny's People" coming to the Island.
I've said this before, "The Island is about to become very crowded."
Some people want the Island back and some people want the "Losties" back.

I second that, only that Penny is involved without consent...
Her dad`s company does alsorts of stuff for the island, Henry`s balloon (Widmore Labs) and Naomi`s boat itself is a joint venture between both widmore and paik industries (sun`s dad`s company)
belshep 05-27-2007, 05:22 PM Have they ever addressed the season 2 finale where the polar guys called Penny, because the buttons weren't pressed? I think that's still a loose end.
No, they've never addressed this and it's a HUGE loose end.
Eight 05-27-2007, 05:28 PM I think that Dharma has undergone some radical changes since the purge. However, the outside world -- IE the oroginal DI -- may have been unaware that a purge even took place. Because of the food drops I would presume that the others perpetrated a con that everything was normal. Only when Desmond turned the key and Locke blew up the Flame did the outside world realize the hostiles had taken over. By that time I believe they may have lost their ability to find the island, which is why Naomi and the new DI are needed to find it, go in and purge the hostiles so they can retake the island for whomever is in charge of the DI now.
This theory may be way off but I, for one, would think it makes for an exciting season 4. War for the island, winner take all!
Lastly, I have to believe it to be something associated with what we already know -- DI, Hanso etc. . . -- since its too late to start introducing new entities into the story.
Casey63 05-27-2007, 06:31 PM I agree the Others were conning the off island Dharma that all was well. The boat showed up after Locke pressed the 77 button in the Flame which I think alerted Dharma that something was wrong.
