It did go with the whole "flash-forward" concept of the eppy. Walt is older due to the obvious difference in time in real life between shooting. But perhaps this is how TPTB explain his growth spurt in the show? Remember that when the Others supposedly had him captured, he still managed to appear to Shannon on multiple occasions.

I am pretty new to The Fuselage and to lost. I basically watched season 1 online and then bought seasons 2 and 3 and finished them last week. Neway...forgive me if this has already been hashed over.

It seems that each season covers around 1 month worth of time on The Island and judging from the appearance of Walt in the final episode of season 3, it seems that the boy has grown atleast half a foot, his chest and shoulders have broadened and his voice has dropped all in the course of three months.

If walt was ten when this thing started and the series goes another 3 seasons at a minimum, then the young man playing Walt will be 16 years old. Interested to see how his stammering maturity rate will work into the story line. from a boy of 10 to a young man of 16 in little over half a year. Any thought?

i remember hearing that the writers and producers had stated that the growth and maturity of malcom david kelly would be addressed by the end of the series.

in ttlg, when walt appears to locke, he calls him 'john', in all of the episodes prior to this one, he has called john 'mr. locke'. any significance?

I've always suspected there is something going on with names, the others refered to Sayid and Jin by there last names but they called Bernard the Dentist, also when Kate and Sawyer were escaping Aldo refered to them as Austen and Ford, but they call Jack the Doctor, except Ben, but the others call Locke, John and they called Pickett, Pickett except for Colleen who called him Danny, also just before Juliette shot him she called him Danny, I'm sure I've just been going slightly mad with the waiting but, this being LOST there could be something to t.
