Raggs, could you tell us if there are any technology nerds/lovers associated with the writing of Lost? Because I would love to know kinda how technical I can get with my theorizing. I love physics, nanotechnology, etc. and if I'm going too far out into wierdo land, I beg you to stop me. I am theorizing all kinds of mind/computer interface scenarios and implants, and other things I haven't even mentioned yet. Should I just find something else to occupy me and relax and enjoy the fiction? Bring me back to earth if I need it, will you, please? Just yell, STOP.

Hi LuvMySayid,
We are all technology nerds/lovers to one degree or another (Javi would be on the top of that heap, I believe) and I think you should get as technical as you want with your theorizing. That's part of what makes this show so much fun, just about anything (literally) goes. Now, that being said, I would LOVE for you to sit back and enjoy the fiction, at least the first time you see each episode, then you can go back and obsess as much as you like after that.
I hope that answers you question. And you keep right on theorizing.
THANKS for watching!

Thanks for your nice reply. You know that I have an evil plan to try to solve as many of y'all's mysteries as possible during the enforced hiatus, don't you? We need solutions, we aren't getting any new episodes, so something must be done. I'm recruiting geeks for the project, too! Maybe we won't have so many re-run breaks in the next season. That's what we all hope. Any news on that front?

The reruns frustrate me as well. We have nothing to do with the scheduling of those reruns, that is handled by the network itself. I will say, however, that the reruns can be helpful if you find yourself falling behind schedule. After we finish writing the episodes (a process that generally takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks), it takes 8 days to shoot the episode and then an additional 3 weeks in post production to add all the bells and whistles, so, if anybody is falling behind, a rerun can be a Godsend. That being said, I am as anxious as you to see the new episodes and I'm sorry (for both of us) about the wait.
It will be worth it, though. I promise...
