toddintexas 02-21-2008, 11:08 PM That episode was Sooooooooo much better than "The Economist", Well done!! Lot's of mindblowing things in this epi. Ben a gazillinaire?!?! And how is he going to get that money to Miles? Was Dan not able to remember 3 simple cards? Where is Sayid and Desmond? This episode was great.
With the focus on Aaron, the whole show, I had an idea Kate's baby was Aaron, and when she told Sawyer she wasn't pregnat I was almost 100% sure. But then when Jack was held up because of her baby, I did a complete reversal and thought it was Sawyer's baby. But then at the end she called him Aaron!! Is it really Claire's Aaron, or did Kate name her baby Aaron? Or was Claire one of the 8 survivors that they said died and Kate took him off the island? But why would Claire let Aaron go unless something happens to her? Man, so many things to ponder!
1dimpleonly 02-21-2008, 11:49 PM Kudos to the writers!!!!
I loved this episode. Things are heating up, and I can't wait till it all comes to a boil!!!
adam8023 02-22-2008, 12:12 AM I love Kate episodes and this one has to be my favorite for now!:D
Thank you writers, thank you Evangeline, and please keep the hits coming!
Debord 02-22-2008, 12:15 AM Definitely Loved This Episode ! Kate rocks!
Simplist 02-22-2008, 12:31 AM loved it... every episode this year has been great... in fact, every LOST episode has been great... some different, but all great cuz its a great series.... and the ABC executive who commissioned JJ should be in hall of fame
ame en peine 02-22-2008, 12:35 AM I loved it. Lots of little twists and turns... one great one in the end. A great Kate story. Bravo.
driveshaft76 02-22-2008, 01:57 AM In my opinion the flash forwards were filled with way too many continuity and factual errors and really ruined the episode for me.
But I did love the on-island stuff. Miles shines again. Michael Emerson deserves an Emmy. He was fantastic as usual.
bcs7583 02-22-2008, 02:47 AM I really enjoyed the episode overall.
Sure, their were some holes in the FF's of Kate's trial, but I still think there is more to be told. I want to believe the DA was feeling pressure from somewhere, whether it be Abaddon's gang, or elsewhere.
Also, a lot appears to have happened even before her arraignment that needs explaining...such as the settlement, buying a house, hiring and becoming friends with a nanny. There is a big gap that needs filling in before I will conclude that the slap-on-the-wrist was lazy writing. I have enough faith in our story tellers to let them finish.
DrUrbino 02-22-2008, 03:37 AM I loved it, I thought it was another terrific episode. I went into more detail in other threads, so really not much more to add here other then I thought it was extremely enjoyable. :)
lipgloss_and_revolver 02-22-2008, 04:04 AM I loved this episode too, season 4 is on a roll!! yay!!
Evangeline Lilly was fantastic!!
Kudos!
:41: :41: :41:
sandiego6656 02-22-2008, 04:15 AM this was one of those few episodes that had be gasping at every twist and turn. so many of my theories were smashed to pieces and i loved it! the best of s4 since the premiere.
lockesmithe 02-22-2008, 04:41 AM Very good episode again tonight. Lost is on a roll. Not sure if Gregg Nations has ever co-penned an episode before tonight, but kudos to the Sarnoff-Nations team.
It seems that I'm living in a flash-forward while watching Lost these days. Not too long ago, it seemed that I'd never see the Losties off the island. Now such a sight has become common, with flash-forwards often replacing the flashbacks that were beginning to add little to the story.
Of course, I could watch Locke and Ben go at each other for the rest of the series. I don't think Lost is ever more exciting than when O'Quinn and Emerson are on the screen together. Locke spending some quality time with Miles was a special scene.
Of course, the evening belonged to Evangeline Lilly, whose character continues to confound me. Of course, I admit to being somewhat distracted by both her natural and "cleaned-up" beauty. I still don't know what to make of Kate--she's manipulative and self-serving, but she also helps out the ones she loves. And she seems to have a lot of love to spread around. I enjoyed seeing Evie take center stage again tonight, and for more reasons than her looks.
I wasn't bothered by the brevity and depth of the court scenes this evening, as some others seem to be.. I didn't tune in to see Perry Mason. To use only the short time alloted to the flash-forward scenes to advance the criminal charges/Jater action/Aaron story line required using some creative plot shorthand.
Great job to all involved. A worthy addition to a strong season.
lostlocke 02-22-2008, 09:22 AM I loved eggtown. It was the first time in a long time that I was so shocked at the ending! I couldn't believe it, I'm intriguiged to know how everything ended up that way but am very creeped out by it at the same time. It was just so strange. They sure are lying alot, I'm itching to know what happened before they left the island.
loved it!!! i wished i wasnt spoiled that much but it was still great!
JoZay 02-22-2008, 10:21 AM I really liked Eggtown. All the twists & delving more into Kate's character. I loved seeing her other side as a loving mother to whoever's baby it really is. I also enjoyed Mr. Miles Snark being knocked down a peg or two. A grenade in one's yap does that sort of thing quite nicely. Thanks Locke.

Same here. That is why I love her character and that is why I think she is a great actress.
Hope for more of these Kate centric episodes in the future.
Thank you Elizabeth, Greg, Stephen, Darlton, Evangeline, Matt, and everyone else for last night!
Lockefan 02-22-2008, 10:47 AM LOVED it:
"Hi, Aaron"!!!!!!!!! :shock1: :surprise:
Hi, AARON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh no she di-unt!!!! WHOA!
OH MY JACOB! I somehow started getting the feeling, and by the last scene I KNEW what Kate was going to say, but still when she said "Hi, Aaron", my jaw dropped and my eyes bugged out of my head. Hi, AARON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kate has Aaron! What happened to Claire?! omg, omg, OMG!
And that was only ONE of the numerous shockers and revelations in last night's episode. WOW. So much to say. Can't even wrap my head around it yet! And of course, I missed the first scene (WHY does the phone always start ringing off the hook EXACTLY when a new episode of LOST begins? I didn't answer it, of course, but the ringing--oh, the RINGING! Make it stop!) between my FAVE character (Locke) and Ben, my other fave (I have about nine faves, give or take *lol*), but Ben was great last night ("3.2 million? Why not 3.3 or 3.4?" :D  ). I knew he was WELL-FUNDED and able to come and go as he pleases! So why the big about women having babies on the island? Why can't he just ship them off to "Other Villas on the Mainland" to conceive, go through pregnancy, and safely deliver, trotting them back once they have a healthy baby? Anyway, what is confusing me is: I'm pretty well decided that the people on the ship are funded by the shadowy and seemingly omnipotent Hanso/Widmore/Piek conglomerate that originally funded the Dharma Initiative, as they somehow got wind of the takeover by "the Hostiles", and they want Ben's head on a platter, among other things that are still mysteries that they want--oh, and they want control of the island again, which is why Ben fears that "every living person on this island will be killed". But what I don't get is: WHO or WHAT is funding the hostiles/Ben? They have MONEY and POWER, too, just like the Hanso/Widmore people...if my theory is even right and the Hanso/Widmore people are the ones from the ship. Anyway, I can't keep up, but it is d*mn fun trying!!!
Hi, Aaron. o. m. g. What happened to Claire?
Well, Kate is raising Jack's nephew, that's all there is to that!
P.S. edited to add: Did I call it last week or did I call it when I said that I believe Claire and Aaron are the remaining two of the Oceanic 6? I was at least half right! Little Aaron is in the mix! But it seems Claire is not. What happened to her? I hope she is still alive, eating boar and banana on the island!
edited further to add: LOVED (although the whole scene was so painful to watch) when Kate told her mother: "I don't want you anywhere near him." She deserved that, truly! And it was so touching how protective Kate is of her son (Claire's son, yet Kate obviously loves him with all her heart and will do anything to protect him, including agreeing to ten years of probation instead of taking her chances with a jury--she didn't want to risk not being there for Aaron, even though it means she can't "run" from where she is for ten whole years, something that might be very hard for Kate, but she will do it for Aaron: TOUCHING! Who knows, she may even learn to become a person who does "taco night" afterall, for Aaron.). What also dawned on me is that, in the original flash forward of the series, when a tortured Jack tells Kate at the airport "We have to go back, Kate!" and she says no, we don't, and then "I have to go, he'll be wondering where I am" or whatever the exact line was, she was probably talking about little Aaron!!!
One thing I don't get: why would Jack not want to see Aaron? Weird, that.
omg, I love this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have I ever mentioned that? If not, my bad. Love it, love it, love it! This episode had all the elements, man. All the elements of classic LOST. WOW. Goodnight, Aaron. Color me blown away!
Andok 02-22-2008, 11:48 AM I loved it, thought it was the best epi of the season, but then again, Im not one to nitpick the little descrepencies in things like the court proceedings and stuff. I was blown away through most of it as well. When Kate made a revelation she had a Son, I was like omg!!!
When Sawyer ratted out Kate to Locke I was like omg!!!
When I realized Sawyer was actually conning Locke to help Kate, I was like omg!!!
When Kate said Goodnight Aaron, I was like no freaking way OMG!!!
LOL so yeah, I loved it.
TheBeastIsMe 02-22-2008, 12:07 PM Bad-*** Locke! Hurley being Hurley! Sawyer and Kate acting somewhat like adults! Full-on future Jater potential! Desmond, Sayid, and Lapidus stuck in time?! Remembering two out of three cards is "showing improvement"? A flashforward that (for the most part) did not continuously make my brain hurt!
I love Evie, but damned if her centrics are some of my least favorite episodes. That changed tonight. While 402 and 403 were better in my opinion, this was definitely an episode that'll keep me satisfied for the rest of the week. Thank goodness she's not running anymore - one more episode of fugitive Kate and I might scream. Thank you Elizabeth and Gregg for moving her character forward and not in circles.
This is the first time since Colonel Locke sank Ben's battleship that he really seemed to be written like he was back in his trebuchet-making S1 days. I have missed that so much! He is not afraid of collateral damage, but at the same time, needs assurance from Sawyer that the flock is following (BTW, more 'Lawyer' scenes, please! Is that even the correct shipper term?). A strategist-zealot on the cusp of madness makes for some pretty sweet TV.
Hurley, Hurley, Hurley. I was afraid offing his best friend might do something to dampen his attitude this season, but last night he was hilarious. I am liking the chemistry on team Locke quite a lot - everybody's got something to add to the equation (except for Claire, and judging by last night's reveal, she might be hooking back up with Charlie in the near future *sniff*).
Did Kate offer Jack the possibility of a future together because she knew he'd refuse? Or was last night her gamble to save Jack from falling into the abyss. Was it her version of an intervention by bribing him with love in order to force him off the bottle and into something stable? Or does Kate really have feelings for Jack? I'm hoping the latter, but guessing the former.
On Island goodness of Sayid, Desmond, and Frank missing - are they stuck in that time delay? And Dan, the head-case, can't remember three cards? That is mind-boggling. Is it just him with this problem? Seems like it's a recent problem if he and Charlotte are working on his memory. Why only him? Does this mean he could have forgotten a connection he has with 815, explaining his misery at seeing the crash on TV?
It's coming hard and fast now, and 44 hours worth of episodes is all of a sudden not looking like nearly enough time to explain all the curveballs in the past 4 weeks. I love this show!
Boone's blue eyes 02-22-2008, 01:22 PM I loved all the things revealed (or NOT revealed) and the writing was great.....but I have to give it up to Josh Holloway .....who made me melt the minute Sawyer flipped Kate over on the bed...
My god...lets give it up to the casting director, thank you, thank you, thank you.....
JPolarBear 02-22-2008, 01:55 PM loved it! and Kate ending up with Claire's son Aaron?? Wow! no one saw that coming!
adam8023 02-22-2008, 04:08 PM We need to beat the haters in overall post counts!
Still love this episode, still love Kate.
Sam G 02-22-2008, 04:44 PM I think there's even a bigger easter egg at the end than Kate having Aaron.
adam8023 02-22-2008, 04:49 PM I think there's even a bigger easter egg at the end than Kate having Aaron.
What is that?
Anyway, this episode was expertly written by Greg and Elizabeth.
The directing was good. Nice cinematography.
ALL the performers acted amazing.
Well.. there's no reason for most people to post here even if they loved it. Look at the polls, the love always outranks the hate. It's just that, if you dont like something, you're gonna discuss it. But you don't discuss the good, because it's a fanforum. Besides, it gets old typing "Wow it was amazing" after each and every episode.
But I agrree, it was superb. A true character driven episode, the first one of S4.
pinner1960 02-22-2008, 07:48 PM thought the episode was definitely one of the best ever.....any thoughts on Kate's "son"
benmanrocky 02-22-2008, 09:46 PM Another great episode, turning out to be the best season yet
Lobby 02-22-2008, 10:14 PM LOVED it: I knew he was WELL-FUNDED and able to come and go as he pleases! So why the big about women having babies on the island? :rotflmao2:
Oh god that is funny! Sounds good to me. Book me into the "Other Villas" and send Ben over for conceptory visit!
But what I don't get is: WHO or WHAT is funding the hostiles/Ben? They have MONEY and POWER, too, just like the Hanso/Widmore people...if my theory is even right and the Hanso/Widmore people are the ones from the ship.
My theory is that the natives mine gems on the island. The Black Rock had mining equipment and one of the women who greeted young Ben when he arrived had "gemologist" written on her coverall. Probably wrong but I'm sticking to it.
adam8023 02-23-2008, 12:03 AM thought the episode was definitely one of the best ever.....any thoughts on Kate's "son"
It is Aaron Littleton.
How?
We'll find out.
Anyway, I'm going to try to watch it again this weekend before this Sunday's NASCAR race!
LostGirl68 02-23-2008, 12:50 AM It was a great episode and left me wanting another! I Love LOST!!!!!!!
lost_gypsy 02-23-2008, 11:03 AM Bravo!
Liplocked 02-23-2008, 12:33 PM This is the first time since Colonel Locke sank Ben's battleship that he really seemed to be written like he was back in his trebuchet-making S1 days. Last line first: Doesn't it though  and there is a ship for the pairing you mention SAWKE where Sawyer/Locke interaction can rock a feller's socks off.... or sawke off his something-or-others. I forget. Or may be dyslexic.
How nice, where 'nice' is polite-speak for unpleasant, cheap and nasty, to see Kate centre stage. I could kick her for her selfishness but kiss her for upping her game. What Katie wants, Katie go-gets. The selfish, conniving minx.
A parent in the making of Michael's determination to protect his son, I'm sure. 'My love is justification enough - and to hell with the rest of you.' - gotta wonder about that mobisode in the Yurt.
makes me smile btw that the writing team sounds like a vodka manufacturer: Greggory Sarnoff. I'd by it! and I hate vodka *bletch*
Don't get the criticism about the trial - faced with an expensive and likely lengthy trial I can so see the State opting to free the pretty lady with the baby. 'Justice' get hers hands dirty (or tied I've no doubt) pretty regularly.
Bravo to the writers for being honest enough to show it. Joe public, denied satisfaction but spared the expense to his coffers and compensated with a show of celebrity instead.
Can't write more - but THANK YOU!!! your Muse, the make-the-fridge-look-a-bit-empty set dressers, what ever saint is responsible, for the sweet potatoes. :blushing:
I must write that Sawyer dream up.
shoegirl 02-23-2008, 01:52 PM This episode intrigued me, in that it continues to raise the stakes about how the 06 get off the island, and who is forcing them to lie in the future and why? Its twisty and cool.
Why Kate has Aaron Littleton may be the best Kate centric eppy of the entire Series. That is a Kate eppy I'm going to be looking forward to, I generally dread most of hers. So, I like this episode, because it is setting up that story.
As a long-time fan of the scoob, gotta love any references to scooby-doo.
I laughed out loud when Sawyer called the Losties following Locke sheep. We've been calling them sheep in the FoxDen for forever.
Jack and Kate's UST is still UST. One of these days we'll finally get to see those two go for it. :)
Now, I need to go looking at the whispers thread and easter eggs thread and see what surprises were in the story that I missed, and other smart LOST fans founds.
Thanks Gregg Nations, for writing this episode. :chickn4:
shoegirl
Kate731 02-23-2008, 10:27 PM I thought it was great too, continuing what is so far a string of completely stellar episodes this season.
I agree with shoegirl. While I generally don't care for Kate-centrics, the Kate-raising-Aaron is really a brilliant way to explore the mysteries about Aaron that were raised in Season 1 and I can't wait to see just how she ended up with him and what the consequences of that will be. Its a great setup.
I also normally don't care for episodes that focus on the triangle too much but this one was quite good. (Of course, I'm a Jater so I'm more likely to be happy with it from that bias, I suppose.)
The only things I didn't like were the silliness of the trial and Claire's behavior (after Charlie's death seeming so happy), but otherwise, I did truly enjoy this episode. I'm loving all the shocks at the end. Last week's was great as well.
stayinglost 02-24-2008, 12:34 AM Loved it! Can't wait until the next one!
Kaz4596 02-24-2008, 12:38 PM Another brilliant episode and I usually can't stand Kate episodes. I can't wait to find out why Kate has Aaron and what happens to Claire.
hollisterbumx3 02-24-2008, 05:42 PM I'm not usually a fan of Kate episodes, but this one was fantastic!
I gasped several times during this episode, especially at the end.
It's a shame to see Locke falling apart again...just when you thought he had it all together....
crashsurvivor 02-24-2008, 08:37 PM I've loved every episode of the season so far. It's about time!!!
shamrock 02-25-2008, 09:00 PM I'm not a fan of Kate episode and I was sure I wouldn't like this either but it had me glued throughout.
I could sit and praise Evangeline, Michael, Terry etc., but everyone else already has. So instead I'm going to priase one of my favourite recurring actresses, Beth Broderick. Even in earlier Kate episodes (which I tend not to like) Beth always lit up the screen for me. And this was no different. She was amazing.
jheri 02-26-2008, 09:53 PM Loved it! Lots of twists and turns, and what an ending. Whats next. Can't wait.
Liplocked 02-27-2008, 10:31 AM I'm not a fan of Kate episode and I was sure I wouldn't like this either but it had me glued throughout.

Here! here! - beautiful, fragile, sad, courageous, reflective and dignified... Beth was amazing.
Except that I wasn't surprised  she's ALWAYS terrific.
Legit_Lost_Fan 02-28-2008, 02:47 AM Loved it also!!!
adam8023 03-02-2008, 01:36 AM Kate is central to the plot and this episode proves it!
fillette 03-04-2008, 02:15 PM I'm quite late to review this episode but I'd like to say that I loved it. I'm a Kate fan, thus I usually love it when the storylines focuse on her hopes, feelings, insecurities and fears.
And what I loved the most in Eggtown was the contrast between on-island Kate and Oceanic6-Kate.
The first one was insecure, confused and struggling with all of her contradicting emotions, like her wish to get off the island, her fear of what's waiting for her, her feelings for Sawyer as well as her hopes for her/their future.
Off-island Kate was totally different, firmly standing her ground against her mother, Jack, her lawyer and not letting people control her choices or her life. That was the best part of the episode for me, this growth in Kate's character.
Another thing I loved in Eggtown is how much you could feel for Kate throughout the episode. But this emotion had its peak in the last scene, when she's holding Aaron, looking absolutely loving and fiercely protective of him but in the same time it is like she's more lonely than ever, with no friends, no love, no family, just Aaron. She looks like she's only holding because of the kid, she has to be strong for him, as difficult as it might be. And this last scene was adorable but scary at the same time when we think about what the future might hold. And of course, it was a damn twist! Though I have to admit that I'd have prefered Kate having Sawyer's child, I think this Aaron storyline is more than promising and I can't wait to find out what happened and where this is gonna go from there.
And then there are a lot of little things I enjoyed throughout the episode: as a skater, i loved the different romantic and angsty scenes between kate and sawyer, the interaction between kate/claire/aaron, the enygmatic discussion between Ben and Miles, the scary path Locke seems to start following, ...
So yes, Eggtown had everything I love in an episode: romance, cuteness, sadness, emotions, a bit of mystery, growth in characters and of course more questions added about what happened and where everything is heading ;)
And I'll add that Evangeline did such a wonderful job in that episode!
adam8023 03-29-2008, 02:33 PM I'll let the haters vent (as long as Kate is still around) but I still love this episode.
You see, Kate is not completely irresponsible.
