I am so glad that we got to hear about someone remembering Ana Lucia. We knew her partner was going to be in the episode from the press release, but I hadn't hoped for this much of a nod to her character. It was great. Hurley clearly was pained by hearing her name.

It was also a good reminder that there are people out there who want to know what happened to the rest of the passengers. The pressure is going to continue to mount on the Oceanic 6.

I recognized him right away, but it was a very special, poignant scene. I always thought he was sort of in love with AL.

It was especially poignant for Hurley, of course, because Ana and LIBBY were murdered. Here's her partner thinking she died in the crash....
Nope she was murdered, as was Hurley's girlfriend.

You'd think Ana-Lucia's mom would want to do the interrogating herself!!
They both speak spanish of course...

Well, you couldn't have said it better! SOOOO good to have her mentioned...

 Ana-Lucia

Huge kudos to Jorge for his performance...you could see him remembering what happened on The Island (Ana-Lucia and everything/everybody else, for sure), but not wanting to "admit anything" and/or "deal with the emotions" (take your pick)...

Of course, Hurley might just have been upset about Libby (except for the not wanting to admit anything part, except for the blanket)...

OMG, how do the writers do what they do???

Tabs, I always think of you as A-L's #1 fan. I so didn't want the dead characters to be forgotten in the future timeline. I think this is a very good sign.

I would love to know WHY he denied know AL? What kind of agreement did they have to make with WHO when they got back. This and Jack's visit to Hurley in the mental institution points to some kind of silence agreement.

 Gee, that's quite a compliment/curse (LOL).

I passionately and emotionally defended her on this board for so long...and got quashed or repelled daily by the incredibly huge onslaught of Ana-Lucia hate...

I still love her. She was going to find and save the children...

WHICH CHARACTER has even mentioned the Tailie children since?

Methinks there is a conspiracy afoot (LOL)...

It was quite a nice poignant crossover. The partner cop looked familiar but I didn't place him until he said that. He probably grieved Ana after the crash. And yes, I would LOVE to see her mother pop up in the future LA.

This and Jack's visit to Hurley in the mental institution points to some kind of silence agreement. Maybe it had something to do with the silence agreement. But even if there weren't, I imagine Hurley just didn't want to revisit the pain of Ana's and Libby's murder, even if he could make a personal connection with the cop.

But I loved Hurley responding eagerly "You can?" to the guy's threat to put him in a mental institution. Relief!

This was one of my top five scenese from last night. I was so surprised because back when I still did spoilers, I knew Big Mike was going to be in it so I kept looking for him when Hurley first got busted.

He was actually given a meatier story though and he nuanced it and made that scene memorable because he represents all the relatives of the "lost" ones. I would have loved to see Ana's mother, one of my favorite fb characters along Christian, but this was a great, great scene all around. I was so surprised to see her referenced that way, not just as an Easter Egg cameo for the internet fans.

I was glad for the connection and Ana Lulu ref. as well.

And for the record, I always felt AL was completely mistreated and never given a chance, much like Paulo and Nikki.

I thought this was a nice touch too. It is so annoying when it seems like the people who have died on the island are completely forgotten about. It would be nice if there were more moments like these. They wouldn't have to be big, but the occasional reference would be nice.

Tabby, I loved Ana too, I really did. Yeah, she was a bad match for Jack, and yeah, her character got killed with the Shannon storyline (no character could have survived that, IMO), but she was an important balance to the group.

I agree with all who say they'd love to see Captain Cortez again. Can you see her berating Jack for information on her daughter? That would be a great scene.

Jennylee, I still think that Ana-Lucia was overpowered/overwhelmed by stress (duh) and more importantly, THE WHISPERS, in the Shannon-shooting scene. Just typing that makes me feel like a broken record (LOL). It's true (to me), and if the writers never bring it out definitively, I will be disappointed. I hope it's just not yet another LOST thing that we're supposed to speculate/wonder/argue about ;) forever.

As for me being Ana-Lucia's biggest fan...maybe I "stayed" here at the 'Lage after she died, but she has a huge following that kept silent or left the 'Lage, in support of the actor.

I had never even heard of Michellle Rodriguez until the spoilers about her upcoming role on LOST, and became intrigued with the new character. And I am not an MR fan girl (not that there's anything wrong with that). ;)

I'll always be a Season 2 LOST fan...the way the Tailies' story began...I could go on for hours (but won't) about how everything was tougher for them than it was for the Losties...

Unfortunately for me, my 2 fave characters ever are no longer on the show...

But I still love it. And it was really touching to see Ana-Lucia mentioned again.
