Electromagnetic Anomoly 02-01-2008, 01:50 AM some birds and the breeze, but im not hearing anything. torb28 02-01-2008, 02:00 AM We thought for sure we heard whispers before Hurley went into the shack. I'm wondering now if the whispers are something other than the Others. Electromagnetic Anomoly 02-01-2008, 02:15 AM We thought for sure we heard whispers before Hurley went into the shack. I'm wondering now if the whispers are something other than the Others. ohhh, most certainly there were whispers. i miss read. i thought you meant in the beginning when the fruit was stacked. my apologies. Eight 02-01-2008, 02:19 AM We thought for sure we heard whispers before Hurley went into the shack. I'm wondering now if the whispers are something other than the Others. I'm under the impression that the whispers are from the "living" dead people on the island watching the drama unfold. UnderAlienControl 02-01-2008, 02:58 AM Read the whisper transcripts...plenty of good stuff...most are actually more subliminal during the show and have to be teased out, but in a couple of cases and especially tonight, they let you hear them real LOUD AND DISTINCT so you definitely know they are there and most times can hear audibly what they are saying in real time...here's a hint: the voices were so loud because of the proximity of Hurley to Jacob...and did anybody bother to notice if Locke removed the ash circle from around the cabin? Hint: I always figured this was a barrier to keep Jacob and the Whispers apart and from re-grouping, since it seems to me that the whipers need help and that help is for a real 3-D person to do their hand and leg work for them to ultimately get Jacob free, since they seem as disembodied as Jacob does. Hence, the use of "apparitions" to lead people around and get them to accomplish the agenda, which Locke and Eko were doing via apparition and "mysterious forces". Men of FAITH. When they used an apparition on Jack (Christian), Jack recoiled and was afraid of the apparition-Man of Science. Once Eko served their purpose, Eko started getting in Locke's way so in comes Smokey thrashing Mr. Eko like an F-16 on a paper airplane. One Board...Two Colors...Black and White Pieces...a winner and a loser...Mr. Lockes words I believe. And, a note about Mr. Eko and Island time being different...is it possible we witnessed Eko's high speed death in 2 parts? Part 1: Eko meets Smokey and "sees his life flash before his eyes" as if in a near death situation, say a big car wreck, and then the next time they meet it's all squealing tires, busting glass, twisting metal and instant death for Eko. Like Eko died fast but in 2 parts. Life flash before eyes, Smokey beats you to death, you die. Except in 2 parts...I dunno that's just how that always felt to me...(<>..<>) Numenor 02-01-2008, 08:12 AM From what I can hear, the whispers outside the cabin are Spanish! I can't speak it but It sounds like they are repeating the same line over and over. Would be nice to find out what it is! pinkchimney 02-01-2008, 10:15 AM The ongoing whispers thread is here........... http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=55358&page=200 jennylee27 02-01-2008, 11:53 AM Thanks pinkchimney for the plug. Just so you all know, I added the Jacob scene to our checklist. Our main whispers decoders don't seem to be around this season, so we'll be looking for people with good sound technology to help out. BuffyMars 02-01-2008, 12:42 PM What's that site where they post transcripts of the whispers? eggbeater 02-01-2008, 04:01 PM I have one question and one point to make. First, has anyone figured out what the whispers were saying this time when Hurley was near the cabin? I must be missing the thread on it or something cause no one seems to be talking about it. I'm dying to know. Also, Jack was so hesitant about letting Ben go anywhere without him. He said something like "I don't trust him with anyone but me." Then when the groups are splitting up, Ben asks Jack if he could go with Locke and Jack seemed ok with it. It was bizarre. It reminded me of when Locke murdered Naomi so she couldn't use the phone and then Jack picks it up and Locke just let him use it. These two need to make a decision and stick with it. Great episode and Lance Reddick stole the show. His work on the Wire and the show in general is amazing. LostFanLaura 02-01-2008, 04:07 PM The whispers were amazing last night. I could hear them in almost every jungle scene! They were really loud when everybody was choosing sides (Jack or Locke). Still, it was not loud enough for me to make anything out. I could hear a woman's voice, for sure. It may have been 2 women talking to each other. NotAnOther89 02-01-2008, 04:10 PM I think some of that may have just been background survivors talking. I think the only real whisper scene was right before Hurley first find Jacobs house. LostFanLaura 02-01-2008, 04:16 PM I think some of that may have just been background survivors talking. I think the only real whisper scene was right before Hurley first find Jacobs house. I disagree. When has this show ever had people talking in the background before? I was sure at the time, and now, that we were hearing obvious whispers, especially in that scene where people were choosing sides. For the characters, that was a defining moment on the island. Luke15:4 02-01-2008, 04:19 PM Yeah i did think i heard whispers when they were picking sides but it ws definitely just them talking in the background. But the cabin scene...it distinctly sounded like a foreign language. NotAnOther89 02-01-2008, 04:23 PM Also the one scene, right before the survivors from the radio tower meet up with the others at the cockpit, you hear people talking and then Sawyer and everyone get their guns ready, but then it just turns out to be the other survivors. It was just a fake out to make you think it was the others or something. axpo23 02-01-2008, 04:45 PM I wondered about that, too, actually. I was thinking that maybe he was just shaken up about the news about Charlie and thought, "fine, go." Maybe it was his way of just not dealing with it anymore. He clearly thought that people were making the wrong choice to follow Locke. Perhaps Jack is thinking, "I'm getting off the island and I don't want Ben around." sier 02-01-2008, 05:05 PM Here you go guys: http://media.putfile.com/Hurleys-Whispers--Jacobs-Cabin---LOST-s04e01 I uploaded the whispers during Hurley's visit with Jacob. Why Desmond...he was nowhere to be found in the whispers scenes. Unless...there's a great theory in the spoilers section...okay, I won't say it, but yeah, um, creepy.
