I keep wondering if Jacob was still trapped in that chair. I couldn't really tell, but it looked that way. If he is why hasn't Locke freed him?

Jacob was never strapped in the chair, he seems to like sitting in his chair, what surprised me more is there seemed to be 2 people in the cabin. You could see Jacob in his chair when the second person came to the window, I assume Hurley saw Jacob and I'm curious what that means.

Right now my thought is this.
Jacob was in the chair and the person at the window was Locke.
I'm also thinking that Jacob is now moving threw Locke, which got him out of the cabin and past the ash line.

Of course I'm usually wrong......lol

the person at the window had brown eyes, no? Doesn't Locke have green or blue eyes? I need to watch it again...

After getting the shock of my life the first time I watched that scene, I went through it frame by frame.
I couldn't get a good look on the person in the chair. It was too dark, I only saw the outline of the head an the left hand, and then the other person's face started blocking the window.
The eye in the window definitely wasn't Lockes, I'm sure of that.
To me, it looked a lot like the one shot of Jacob's eye we got during out last visit in the cabing the previous season.
But if Jacob was the one behind the window, who was in the rocking chair?
Smokey materializing and coming by for a cup of tea because they're both bored?
Can't have been Ben, and so far we're led to believe that he's the only one of the others who has access to Jacob.
Maybe it was Locke in the rocking chair.

Jacob was in the chair but the person in the window isn't Locke, at least I don't think so. I played it in slow motion and the eye looked brown.

I agree, Jacob was not strapped into the chair.

Wrong! "Christian Sheppard" or more probably Smokey was in the chair. http://bp2.blogger.com/_8HhjIy50yEY/R6KepKLiPEI/AAAAAAAAAQU/B5x9-faA0pc/s1600-h/mr.shephard2.jpg

The "eye" was probably Jacob

I have the ability to use slow motion on my tv and I could see the eye clearly. However the person in the chair i couldn't. So i will not believe it's christian until it's confirmed that it was. No matter what picture anyone shows me.

So ... Let me get this straight. If you had been able to see Christian in the chair using your slow motion t.v. you would have believed it ... but because someone else posted it, you don't?
How about the fact that the actor who portrays Christian appeared as a "guest star" in last nights episode?

Yeah, John Terry was credited as a guest star for the episode, yet he wasn't in a flashback (or in this case, the flashforward). That looked like Christian in that chair. So, put two and two together. It had to be him.

Christian's "ghost" (Smokey?) was in the chair, Jacob's eye (same shot as last season) popped up.

Why, do you think the numerous screen caps of the shot were photoshopped or something? You can see thats its Christian even more clearly in the promo for the episode. Its him man.

To be clear, it wasn't the same shot. It was the same type of shot - of simply his eye.

In the spirit of the Orchid, what if the eye belonged to Hurley? It sure would explain the expression. Imagine seeing yourself outside....

I assumed, like others, that the eye in the window was Locke.

Confirms Jack's father was in the chair, but not necessarily Jacob.
