View Full Version : Favorite lines from TBOTE
jennylee27 02-01-2008, 01:56 PM I don't remember who always opened this thread last season, but I miss it. What were your favorite lines from The Beginning of the End? From my first viewing, my top were:
"She's not your daughter" - Danielle
"You'd look weird with a beard" - Hurley
Clochard 02-01-2008, 01:57 PM Jack "I'm thinking about growing a beard"
Hurley "You'd look weird with a beard, Dude"
Bernard "You wanna Cannonball? Cannonball."
lostlocke 02-01-2008, 01:58 PM Loved when Kate asked Sawyer what he was doing and he responded with
"same thing I've always been doing Kate, survivin"
Claudia815 02-01-2008, 02:04 PM Jack "I'm thinking about growing a beard"
Hurley "You'd look weird with a beard, Dude."
Yes, that's my absolute favorite.
I also loved pretty much everything that came out of Ben's mouth and Danielle's: "She's not your daughter!" TWACK!
dangerousdirk 02-01-2008, 02:11 PM I have to agree, Sawyers "surviving" line was very good
Twiga 02-01-2008, 02:14 PM Ben had *all* the great lines last night.
"If it's ok with you Jack, I would like to go with John."
"I probably should have told you she took the phone, but you beat me up."
"Tell them she went to get alot of firewood." (or something like that)
workingmom 02-01-2008, 02:16 PM "I’m trying to buy beef jerky and a slushie, and you’re standing over there by the Ho-Hos!"
(Remember how Hurley fantasized that the hatch would be full of Twinkies?)
NotAnOther89 02-01-2008, 02:17 PM "Were NEVER going back!!"
Echoing my favorite line from last season...
Danielle: She's not your daughter.
and
Rose: I'm not going anywhere with that man.
tremorstone 02-01-2008, 02:29 PM -----
Rose to Claire: You better make sure you treat [Charlie] real good when he gets back.
Claire: ROSE!!!
i liked Charlie to Hurley: I am dead, but I am also here.
Hurley: Okay, prove it.
Charlie: SMACK!
-----
I like the lines Twiga mentioned that Ben had.
pacejunkie 02-01-2008, 03:13 PM My favourite line has to go to Charlie: "I am here, you're being a baby"
Charmedfreak 02-02-2008, 04:28 AM "She's not your daughter" - Danielle
"You'd look weird with a beard" - Hurley
"You better make sure you treat [Charlie] real good when he gets back". - Rose to
myothercarisflight815 02-02-2008, 04:32 AM My favourite line has to go to Charlie: "I am here, you're acting like a baby"
I liked that one too. I thought it brought out the dynamic of their friendship. It made *me* believe he was there!
phorkster 02-02-2008, 04:41 AM Jack: "Because I love you Kate."
AnalogKid 02-02-2008, 04:54 AM I thought Ben had the best lines. I had to watch the scene twice when Jack realized he didn't have the phone. But geez, it sure did have a lot of good ones.
woland 02-02-2008, 04:59 AM Ben had the best line nobody mentioned: Well technically he didn't kill her yet. That line cracked me up.
Laurenheartsyou 02-02-2008, 05:15 AM locke: you're not going to shoot me jack, any more than i was going to shoot you.
jack: *click of empty barrel*
briar910 02-02-2008, 05:48 AM Everything that came out of Ben's mouth was awesome. I think Ben should have a stand-up dark comedy routine. He would kill.
I also enjoyed Jack's "ARE YOU INSANE!"
stevenscorsese 02-02-2008, 06:06 AM "Did I ever tell you I won the lottery? I got, like, 150 million dollars. Worse thing that ever happened to me."
"Oh yeah, who needs 150 million dollars, right?"
"Jack with your permission, I'd like to go with John."
"He's all yours."
"You know where to find us when you change your mind."
lockesmithe 02-02-2008, 01:53 PM My fav: When Jack realizes that he was duped by following the wrong Naomi trail after the freighties were told Naomi was out gathering firewood.
Ben (something to the effect of) "Time to call the freighter back. Tell them Naomi's getting a really big pile of wood."
Dr_Do_Right 4 8 15 16 23 42 02-02-2008, 01:56 PM "It's not loaded..."
haha.
shanzy288 02-02-2008, 10:02 PM Hurley: "You don't wait with warnings, you warn!"
TabbyRasa 02-02-2008, 10:25 PM I like a lot of those already posted...how about...
"Uh Oh" Hurley, upon seeing Jacob's cabin for the first time
isobelownsyou 02-02-2008, 10:53 PM i've never been a huge Sawyer person but "Give a holler if you need me Hugo" is pretty much the nicest thing he's ever said i think. Very sweet.
Also dug "Are you INSANE?" & both *smacks* (Danielle & Charlie)
Jack Sawyer 02-02-2008, 10:55 PM "Survivin'."
Kate731 02-02-2008, 11:00 PM My personal favorite, from the always wonderfully sardonic Ben, upon Jack being unable to locate Naomi:
"Better call the boat. Tell them she's getting a really BIG bundle of firewood."
james sharkington 02-02-2008, 11:03 PM Ben had great lines in this episode
If its ok with you Jack I would like to go with John.
I probably should have told you she took the phone but you beat me up
Better call the boat tell them she's getting a really big bundle of firewood
NotAnOther89 02-02-2008, 11:06 PM So I've watched the episode a bunch of times and these are the ones that I will remember and always skip to:
"I'm one of the Oceanic 6!!!" - Hurley
"Are they still alive?" - Abbadon
"YOU KNOW THEY NEED YOU!!!" - Charlie
"So I'm not listening to you, I'm listening to my friend, I'm listening to Charlie" - Hurley
"We're never GOING back!" - Jack
JackSackAndCrack 02-02-2008, 11:28 PM "Survivin'."
Awww no. That line was disgusting. Such bad writing. So cheesy. Cringe-worthy.
Naomi's "Tell my sister I love her" was terrible as well.
Hurley's whole speech was a bit amateur too.
I think the best lines were uttered in the flash forwards. Some great lines in there that parallel against present events. 'Tis a beautiful inclusion, those flash forwards.
onenil 02-02-2008, 11:55 PM Hands down: "Jack with your permission, I'd like to go with John."
Lost_in_DeLandFla 02-03-2008, 02:39 AM My favorite is when Charlie tells Hurley that he is being a baby!
phorkster 02-03-2008, 03:24 AM Naomi's "Tell my sister I love her" was terrible as well.
I totally suspect this to be code for "I'm in trouble and or dying be careful."
100%
I like a lot of those already posted...how about...
"Uh Oh" Hurley, upon seeing Jacob's cabin for the first time
I think that line was quite interesting because imo it means that Hurley has familiarity with the cabin.
RorrimTsol 02-03-2008, 04:18 AM Locke to the Losties:
"If you wanna live, you need to come with me!"
GREAT line right in the midst of possibly the best scene of the whole episode!
Pythagoras99 02-03-2008, 04:59 AM Ben to Jack about Kate: "But look on the bright side, at least somebody around here knows what the hell they're doing".
Ben was awesome in that whole scene.
Also, Charlie: "I am dead. But I'm also here." As it gives us some insight into what's going on.

Locke- It's not loaded..
it's not the line itself but the situation. brilliant. one of the most disturbing moments of the show
CrazyLatin007 02-03-2008, 06:37 AM I like all the ones you guys have mentioned, but I particularly liked Jack's "How did this happen?" by the cockpit. It really summarized all the stuff that has gone on for the Losties since they crashed on the island.
islandchica 02-03-2008, 06:08 PM "I’m trying to buy beef jerky and a slushie, and you’re standing over there by the Ho-Hos!"
That was hilarious, because it's just so HURLEY! He has a tendency to ramble on about irrelevant things, even when he's entirely freaked out.
Claudia815 02-03-2008, 06:16 PM That was hilarious, because it's just so HURLEY! He has a tendency to ramble on about irrelevant things, even when he's entirely freaked out.
That's exactly what I do so I can relate.
"Stop acting like a baby!" is SO Charlie/Hurley. It made me laugh, but it was that nostalgic kind of laugh...
Speaking of, Jack remembering their first trek in the jungle: "It seems like it was a hundred years ago."
Warne 02-03-2008, 06:26 PM "I think it wants us to come back"
LOST moment
JackSackAndCrack 02-03-2008, 06:33 PM I totally suspect this to be code for "I'm in trouble and or dying be careful."
Oh. Never thought about it in that way tbh.
I hope you're right.
IWasAHunter 02-03-2008, 06:58 PM "Are you FINE, Mr Reyes?"
so creepy
Corey Chaos 02-03-2008, 07:08 PM My personal favorite, from the always wonderfully sardonic Ben, upon Jack being unable to locate Naomi:
"Better call the boat. Tell them she's getting a really BIG bundle of firewood."
I agree. Best. Line. Ever.
Dan Clancey 02-03-2008, 11:33 PM inside the fuselage
Kate to Jack "Are you thinking about Charlie?"
Jack to Kate - 'Yeah, feels like a 100 years ago when when came out here"
Guinevere 02-03-2008, 11:56 PM My favorite was Charlie telling Hurley, "Now, Hurley, don't freak out!" when Hurley saw him standing there on the lawn on Santa Ana's. That and "You're being a baby!" Such a great Charlie/Hurley moment and makes me realize how much I'll miss that.
COL_Richard 02-04-2008, 12:51 PM all of Bens lines were great but the line that made the hairs on my neck stand...
Michael Abaddon: Are they still alive?
Michaud 02-07-2008, 02:01 PM Abaddon's "Are they still alive?" and "You heard me."
Brilliantly delivered by Lance Reddick.
annieone 02-07-2008, 02:30 PM Ben: "But look on the bright side, at least somebody around here knows what the hell they're doing".
Locke> If you wanna live, you must come with me.

I agree with this as being one of the best. (I also agree about Ben's line. He was a trip!)
But, this showed a different side of Jack emerging, imo. Obviously, TBOTE, was a great title on so many levels.
Islandtracker 02-08-2008, 11:10 PM Jack "I'm thinking about growing a beard"
Hurley "You'd look weird with a beard, Dude"
Bernard "You wanna Cannonball? Cannonball."
I loved that line b/c as a Jck fan I couldn't agree more with Hurley
I/T
100%
"it seems like one hundred years ago" Jack to Kate. I love that they made us look back at far the series, the surviors and Jack and Kate have come together.
Drunkenmimes 02-14-2008, 03:03 AM "Dunno Miles...How stupid are you?"
caforrest2047 02-14-2008, 03:18 AM The Bernard "you wanna cannonball, cannonball" and just before that the exchange between Bernard and Hurley regarding the lottery win being bad, I don't remember the exact exchange but I loved it.
