I don't remember who always opened this thread last season, but I miss it. What were your favorite lines from The Beginning of the End? From my first viewing, my top were:

"She's not your daughter" - Danielle
"You'd look weird with a beard" - Hurley

Jack "I'm thinking about growing a beard"
Hurley "You'd look weird with a beard, Dude"

Bernard "You wanna Cannonball? Cannonball."

Loved when Kate asked Sawyer what he was doing and he responded with
"same thing I've always been doing Kate, survivin"

Yes, that's my absolute favorite.

I also loved pretty much everything that came out of Ben's mouth and Danielle's: "She's not your daughter!" TWACK!

I have to agree, Sawyers "surviving" line was very good

Ben had *all* the great lines last night.

"If it's ok with you Jack, I would like to go with John."

"I probably should have told you she took the phone, but you beat me up."

"Tell them she went to get alot of firewood." (or something like that)

"I’m trying to buy beef jerky and a slushie, and you’re standing over there by the Ho-Hos!"

(Remember how Hurley fantasized that the hatch would be full of Twinkies?) :biggrin:

I liked that one too. I thought it brought out the dynamic of their friendship. It made *me* believe he was there!

I thought Ben had the best lines. I had to watch the scene twice when Jack realized he didn't have the phone. :biggrin: But geez, it sure did have a lot of good ones.

Ben had the best line nobody mentioned: Well technically he didn't kill her yet. That line cracked me up.

locke: you're not going to shoot me jack, any more than i was going to shoot you.
jack: *click of empty barrel*

Everything that came out of Ben's mouth was awesome. I think Ben should have a stand-up dark comedy routine. He would kill.

I also enjoyed Jack's "ARE YOU INSANE!"

"Did I ever tell you I won the lottery? I got, like, 150 million dollars. Worse thing that ever happened to me."
"Oh yeah, who needs 150 million dollars, right?"


"Jack with your permission, I'd like to go with John."

My fav: When Jack realizes that he was duped by following the wrong Naomi trail after the freighties were told Naomi was out gathering firewood.

Ben (something to the effect of) "Time to call the freighter back. Tell them Naomi's getting a really big pile of wood."

i've never been a huge Sawyer person but "Give a holler if you need me Hugo" is pretty much the nicest thing he's ever said i think. Very sweet.

Also dug "Are you INSANE?" & both *smacks* (Danielle & Charlie)

"Survivin'."

My personal favorite, from the always wonderfully sardonic Ben, upon Jack being unable to locate Naomi:

"Better call the boat. Tell them she's getting a really BIG bundle of firewood."

Ben had great lines in this episode

So I've watched the episode a bunch of times and these are the ones that I will remember and always skip to:

"I'm one of the Oceanic 6!!!" - Hurley

"Are they still alive?" - Abbadon

"YOU KNOW THEY NEED YOU!!!" - Charlie

"So I'm not listening to you, I'm listening to my friend, I'm listening to Charlie" - Hurley

"We're never GOING back!" - Jack

"Survivin'."

Awww no. That line was disgusting. Such bad writing. So cheesy. Cringe-worthy.

Naomi's "Tell my sister I love her" was terrible as well.

Hurley's whole speech was a bit amateur too.

I think the best lines were uttered in the flash forwards. Some great lines in there that parallel against present events. 'Tis a beautiful inclusion, those flash forwards.

Hands down: "Jack with your permission, I'd like to go with John."

I think that line was quite interesting because imo it means that Hurley has familiarity with the cabin.

Locke to the Losties:

GREAT line right in the midst of possibly the best scene of the whole episode!

Ben to Jack about Kate: "But look on the bright side, at least somebody around here knows what the hell they're doing".

Ben was awesome in that whole scene.

Also, Charlie: "I am dead. But I'm also here." As it gives us some insight into what's going on.

I like all the ones you guys have mentioned, but I particularly liked Jack's "How did this happen?" by the cockpit. It really summarized all the stuff that has gone on for the Losties since they crashed on the island.

My favorite was Charlie telling Hurley, "Now, Hurley, don't freak out!" when Hurley saw him standing there on the lawn on Santa Ana's. That and "You're being a baby!" Such a great Charlie/Hurley moment and makes me realize how much I'll miss that.

I agree with this as being one of the best. (I also agree about Ben's line. He was a trip!)

But, this showed a different side of Jack emerging, imo. Obviously, TBOTE, was a great title on so many levels.
