First of all, how could someone who's been knifed in the back crawl away, pull the knife out of her own upper back, create a false trail and doubleback, AND climb a tree? Did she have Mikhail helping her? :rolleyes:

Kate had pretty good presence of mind with the knife at her neck. She stayed calm and won Naomi over. "I swear to God we would never hurt you, you know us. Please, I need your help."

I was surprised that covered for them when talking to Minkowski.

I wonder if Naomi doesn’t actually know if/that the freighter people are not here for rescue as Ben and Locke maintain. She may have been kept in the dark the way Sayid did in not letting Jack tell Kate, Sawyer & Hurley about Michael's betrayal on the LTDA trek – to keeps their motives and actions clean, and to prevent the real story from getting out if she were tortured.

That's assuming the freighter people have some other purpose in mind, of course.

Well, I suppose the beginning of all of that goes back to the healing properties of the Island. I'd imagine that she would have been in an incredible amount of pain, but if the knife didn't hit any major veins or things ("things" being the medical term here, :smile:), then i'm sure she could have done what she did.

Regards to "covering" for them ... well.
i. Why make a fake trail? Why did she want to get away so badly? WITHOUT her phone?
ii. She clearly wants her ship to come to the Island, and knowing that someone tried to kill her, may deter them slightly.

At first I thought, oh boy, is this another Mikhail?! Remember that this isn't her first injury that she hasn't died from on the island. When she parachuted in she was hurt once already and healed. So I thought that's where this is going, she is going to be someone that mysteriously heals. It doesn't look that way though. It looks like she really died this time. However it looked like she died when the knife went in her back didn't it?!!

I guess that would be the healing properties? Each time Mikhail has been healed, we all thought he was dead - he laid wherever he was for quite some time (in the looking glass, the sonar fence).
Then again, having everyone think she was dead is pure suspense.
