View Full Version : Holy Cow! South Shore 02-07-2008, 11:05 PM Any ideas why Frank sees a cow? A big guy too. Kate731 02-07-2008, 11:11 PM I'm trying to remember if there were cows at Mikhail's place in Enter 77- certainly there were some farm animals IIRC. South Shore 02-07-2008, 11:19 PM Ah yes, you are absolutely correct. Lostpedia has assembled a nice list re: cows: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Cow Are we simply dealing with the loose cows wandering the island? Fair enough. Kate731 02-07-2008, 11:20 PM Could just be a cow wandering around. It was funny though! His startled reaction was cute. South Shore 02-07-2008, 11:26 PM Could just be a cow wandering around. It was funny though! His startled reaction was cute. It was a great reaction . . . knowing now that Frank is a bit of a drunk, it may not be the first time he's seen cows unexpectedly! lostandfound13 02-07-2008, 11:28 PM He could be seeing the cow as Kate saw the horse... erins 02-08-2008, 12:27 AM Odd that our survivors never ran across any random roaming cows, that would have fed the troops for at least a few meals! LOST_in_Steel_City 02-08-2008, 12:28 AM The cow was at the Flame station last season before it was blown up. Kanikazi 02-08-2008, 03:13 AM I half expected Patchy aka Mikhail to come strolling up! Cow=comic relief. Shillelagh61 02-08-2008, 03:23 AM Any ideas why Frank sees a cow? A big guy too. My bet = it was a bull. Check out the rear view when it walks away (grin):biggrin: james_sawyer 02-08-2008, 03:28 AM If I'm not mistaken (and I may very well be) cows are revered by Hindus. Also, I believe the Hindu religion supports the hollow earth theory. I could be wrong... my t dux 02-09-2008, 11:01 AM Yet another reason why I loved this epi, bringing back the cow from Enter 77, a very nice touch to remind us to always pay attenion Lucidity 02-09-2008, 11:08 AM I always thought the "Flame Station" having the Cows was just Darlton's idea of the Others' "Burger King". Don't they have a burger called the BK Flamer? Being a vegetarian I'm more aware of their Spicy BeanBurgers. Juliet got her burgers from somewhere, after all. And, on a more serious, but probably equally meaningless, note, I wondered if the Freighties come from some weird place, or the future or something, and that's why Charlotte was all psyched to be in that lake, and perhaps it was the first time Lapidus had seen a cow. DesmondMorris 02-09-2008, 11:38 AM Holy COW Well there have been a few references to Pink Floyd in Lost & I couldn't help but think of the Pink Floyd Album cover for "Atom Heart Mother" when I saw the cow. Although it's a brown cow & the cover is not it still made me think of Pink Floyd who indeed have had other references in Lost. http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Special:Search?search=pink+floyd&go=Go While there are no lyrics in Atom Heart Mother the song titles are intriguing "Father's Shout" "Breast Milky" "Mother Fore" "Funky Dung" "Mind Your Throats, Please" "Remergence" Pardon me while I go out on a limb ;) MyLost 02-09-2008, 02:12 PM I thought it was a smokie illusion and there are probably whispers in the cow bell. Thought I would check the whispers page. I'd explain that potential but nobody wants to read a book  hskr_n_hi 02-11-2008, 10:56 PM You know, as far as very large boy cows go :), this one was quite mellow. Electromagnetic Anomoly 02-11-2008, 11:03 PM If I'm not mistaken (and I may very well be) cows are revered by Hindus. Also, I believe the Hindu religion supports the hollow earth theory. I could be wrong... You could be right too, just not sure of the point. Since a cow is on the island it must be Hindu related which in turn is a nod from the writers that the Hollow Earth theory is what is being played out?! gupwalla 02-12-2008, 12:39 AM INT. WRITER'S ROOM The writers are at an impasse. They have their intrepid pilot FRANK at his point of greatest exhaustion. He must make it over a small hill before he can summon help, but he is completely devoid of energy. What is he to do? The eyes of the WRITERS dash about the room, looking for some source of inspiration that can enable them to boost FRANK over that last hill. Simultaneously, they all settle their eyes on dozens of empty infused vitamin drink cans scattered about the writers' table. WRITERS (unison): He sees a red bull! It gives him wings! And lo, a smile crosses the lips of their muse. END SCENE. ----- And as a country boy born and raised, please for the love of God and Willie Nelson stop calling it a cow. That Frank called it a cow might be attributed to his city upbringing or a severe loss of blood. There is no excuse for the TiVo crowd to mislabel the poor animal. Go back and take a closer look. That ain't no udder. That was a danged bull. axpo23 02-12-2008, 12:46 AM Odd that our survivors never ran across any random roaming cows, that would have fed the troops for at least a few meals! LOL! A nice steak and a sunset on a tropical island. That place can't be but so bad. hehe  100% I always thought the "Flame Station" having the Cows was just Darlton's idea of the Others' "Burger King". LOL--literally. :rotflmao2: Jack Sawyer 02-12-2008, 12:57 AM INT. WRITER'S ROOM The writers are at an impasse. They have their intrepid pilot FRANK at his point of greatest exhaustion.
