Very ironic that Locke's father saved hid life by stealing his kidney.

lol....when I was watching the episode with my boyfriend and when Locke said that he might have died if he'd had a kidney he said "well Locke's so big on fate...I guess his dad was supposed to steal it then"

This part of the episode almost made me turn off the show for good it annoyed me so much (and looking back on it, I should have). Are the writers just that stupid? Organs are not spread out one at a time in the body, they are compact and overlapping each other. Even if Locke didn't have his kidney the bullet would have gone through at least one of either his stomach, his spleen, his liver, his pancreas, or his colon. (Just check out this picture (http://www.thehealthcarenet.com/IMAGES/ACC_1587798298.jpg)) Not to mention muscles which support the lungs and abdomen- depending on how high on the chest the bullet entered we're even talking possibly hitting the diaphragm which is the muscle we use to breath! So unless the writers would also like me to assume that Locke has no stomach, colon or liver as well or can survive with a hole in them this explanation was complete BS and the stupidest explanation to anything I've yet seen on this show (which is saying something).

So, basically, in the finale they had one person live for reasons which are scientifically incorrect and one person die in a way which was scientifically incorrect- and it wasn't even a black smoke monster type thing either. Rolling the eyes 100 times. Do some research, fellows... we're talking basic anatomy here. If you going to make Locke survive a bullet passing through his abdomen, at least explain it away with the 'island magical healing powers' or something equally mysterious and don't try to be scientific when you don't know what you're talking about.

I wonder if Locke forgives his father for taking his kidney now?

I like that idea. I have a hunch that Ben and Charlotte are in cahoots, and he knew that she was wearing a bullet proof vest.

I can't help but think that Locke's missing kidney was orchestrated in advance so that the bullet wouldn't kill him because he had "work to do". Maybe later on he'll die in another fashion after being "course corrected".
