Tonight we had at least two. One terribly obvious, and one that only a diehard would pick up on.

1) Sawyer referred to Locke as Yoda when ridiculing him about his ability to communicate with Walt.

2) The excavation site where the DHARMA/Hydra polar bear fossils were found was in the country of Tunisia. This African nation was the filming location of the Tatooine scenes during the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas named the fictional planet after the area of Tunisia they filmed in, Tataouine.

...and one even a diehard could miss...

Kate: Aren't you a little short for a helicopter pilot?
Daniel: Huh? Oh, the uniform. I'm Daniel Faraday. I'm here to rescue you!
Jack: You're who?
Daniel: I'm here to rescue you, look, I've got your R2-unit and I'm here for Ben Linus!

I'm Luke Skywalker. I'm here to rescue you.

Daniel Faraday lands on the Island, pulls off his Stormtrooper helmet, just like Luke in the Death Star jail cell, and says, "I'm Daniel Faraday. I'm here to rescue you." That's blatant.

C.S. Lewis hanging upside down over the water by her feet, trying to pull them out. The whole sequence of reaching for her feet and reaching down to the water, it so resembled Luke in the ice cave on Hoth, just before the White Wumpus Polar Bear Guy comes and gets him. Not so blatant.

Others?

Season IV: A New Hope?

CS Lewis found that polar bear in Tunisia which is where Lucas shot his Tattooine shots.

the scene in Tunisia with the newspaper reminded me of the end of The X-Files movie. It was also a tribute to Star Wars. I laughed when Sawyer called Ben Yoda...too funny.

"You're no good to me dead" is what Locke told Charlotte. That's a Boba Fett quote. This should really come as no surprise since past seasons have been littered with them.

Great line!

No surprise, just blatant. Hence, Blatant Star Wars References.

Shoot! That is an interesting comparison - six episodes of Star Wars vs 6 seasons of Lost.

:34853_huh:

You serious, or are you joking?

There are six:

Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
