My Theories:

Polar Bear and Dharma Collar -

The reason they were found in Tunisia is probably the same reason why the Black Rock was found in the middle of the jungle. It "fell in" through time. The same reason why the only modern thing found in the hatch was a Washer and Dryer. Tunisia, Nigeria and the Black Rock (a slave ship)...all things in and around Africa.

This Island has openings to it all over the place and things slip through. That washer and dryer? It came to the Dharma folks back in the late 70s, early 80s. It wasnt brought there in our modern time. It just happened to slip in from the future...just the way that polar bear slipped out into the past. One of these openings is in the sea, and Ben knows about it. Thus the sub and why they sedated Juliet. To make a too-short sub ride seem like it was hours.

I believe that this is the same way the food drop came through. Nobody saw it drop because it just popped in. Someone, namely Ben, knows how to control it. That is how he could easily get Locke's father there. It's the reason why they drugged Juliet so she couldn't know it only took minutes to get there from Portland. Perhaps this is the reason they want Ben killed. That's a very powerful thing to have control of.

Im starting to see the big picture form. The ability to control time. The ability to control chaos...to fashion events to make it look like it's happenstance and coincidence. How else can you explain Lock getting his kidney stolen? Someone knew he was going to be shot. The way Juliet's husband "Accidentally" got run over by a car.

-- New inhabitants

Each of these people, including Naomi had found out about the Island or the conspiracy with the airplane. Each of these people were actually "dumped" on the Island. This explains the unresponsive freighter once they arrived.

There will be significant turns in this story based on whatever it is that Dan knows.

-- Another Ben Con

I believe the man who sent Naomi to her fate and visited Hurley works for Ben. The thing with Hurley was a test to see if he'd spill the beans. I believe the agreement was, "If any one of you says ANYTHING about this Island or the crash, you will all be brought back to the Island." Ben has the power to do this, hence Juliet's arrival. I think it's possible that Ben is in the coffin which is why jack was so distressed...the one person who could get him back to the Island dies. Maybe something happened to where the secret didnt matter anymore and Ben refused to send him back once Ben learned Jack WANTED to go back (you know Ben is..)

We've seen Ben trick Locke into doing other things, so why not use this "power of the Island" to trick Locke into killing Naomi, the smartest of the five Losty hunters. The other four probably knew the least.

And no, I have no knowledge of spoilers, but I have just watched the first three seasons prior to watching this one...and the big picture is starting to form.

The old metaphorical "magic box" huh? Or is that a magic wormhole?

I wonder...was the flight path that Eko's brother was taking crossing over Tunisia?

The old metaphorical "magic box" huh? Or is that a magic wormhole?

this makes sense because thats why jack called kate and told her they had to go back, the only thing that is stopping jack from saying anything is hurting kate.

It does explain the short coffin....

I am really curious as to what would cause Jack to flip from his "we're never going back" attitude(s4e1) to the Jack we saw in the season 3 finale.
