Drew, I also posted this for Damon, but maybe you could answer:

Will a lot of the island happenings be summed up by ghosts (whispers, apparitions, etc.)?

Does Miles really communicate with the dead, pretend to communicate, or is his "ability" something closer to Locke's?

If it is ghosts, why would the Dharma Initiative be interested in an island of ghosts? And that still wouldn't explain why some of the apparitions have been of living people (Walt, Claire seeing Locke, Hurley seeing Jin for example), or how island Yemi said he wasn't Eko's brother. On a side note, if Jacob were just a ghost, why would he have special powers that the other apparitions didn't have?

Please give me some kind of answer or hint. This is one of the best shows ever made, but I am not comfortable with the ghost addition.
