Timeline question: With reference to Christianna I, we know that the game Find 815 does indeed correspond to the Island. And we know that the freighter didn't find the sunken airplane until after Christmas, because of the Captain's comments to Sam. But Naomi parachuted onto the Island on Day 87, which is Friday, December 17, 2004. The timeline doesn't mess? Thoughts?

the producers mentioned in a podcast a while back that time on the island flows differently than time in the outside world, so maybe that's why there's a discrepancy.

In chapter 3, Sam sent word to his mom that he wouldn't be home Christmas since they expected the search to go past that, but I don't recall it being said exactly when they found the wreckage.

This is my first Post. I've been lurking for a while.

Do we know for certain that Sams boat is the same as the Freighties boat? I've been rewatching the S4 epi's and I'm not completely convinced...

It's not the same boat. Well, I guess it could be, but Sam's not on it. The Freightastic Four all saw footage from the POVs that the Christiane I sent out that discovered the wreckage. This is a very clear indication that they are not the ones who discovered it. At the end of Find 815, Sam was back on main land, right? The Season 4 freighter would go looking for the island some time later.

As per the original question, the others in this thread have the right idea. I'm not sure what the actual date is that the Christiane I finds the wreckage, but if it happens to be after Christmas, you have to account for the time discrepancy. This is a difficult subject to discuss because we don't know exactly how the time difference(s) work(s). It's weird because even though time has been said to move differently on the island, the date on the island when the plane crashed was still Sept 22. Therefore the date on and off the island is the same, but when it comes to traveling to and from the island, there is some sort of time lapse. I don't know, thinking about this is making me confuse myself, plus I know something that is mentioned in tonight's episode so I can't express what I'm fully thinking without spoiling anything.

Going back on point, it's possible that the Christiane I was back to the main land before Christmas and then there isn't really a discrepancy in the time line.
