It probably has no significance to the show, but I never noticed before I saw him playing golf tonight. Did anyone ever notice if he shot the rifle or pistol lefthanded?

It doesn't matter, I guess. It's just that I've seen every episode of this show ever since it first came on, and never once did I notice that he was a lefty.

It's possible that he is ambidextrous, or that he is right handed for most things, but plays sports left-handed. I know lots of people like that (including my husband).

I dunno, but one things for sure, he's got a good swing!

We also noticed it in his stance tonight, my husband commented on it right away. Neither one of us noticed it before. Could it really make any difference? In a boxer, yes, but does it matter anywhere else?

It probably doesn't matter in the scheme of the show, but being a left-hander myself it usually means something to other southpaws.

An awful lot of right-handed cricketers bat with their left hand dominant because the real power in the stroke comes from the upper hand; I presume it's the same with golfers

Sawyer is the obvious lefty, Sayid was a surprise because it's the first lefty thing he's done that I can remember.

He doesn't have a very good swing, he just exaggerates the follow through for dramatic effect for TV.

Not a true ambidexterity but perhaps like me, he writes with one hand, while he swings (a bat, a club) with the other. Then again, who knows. Actually, it looks to me like they might have told him to hold the pencil with his right hand, just cuz of the angle of the camera, the scene in general. I dont know the term, but it looks right. He would have looked closed off to Shannon had he been holding it with his left.

I am right handed. I golf and I've shot a gun before... and I couldn't imagine doing either with my weaker (left) hand... and I don't know of any righties that golf left-handed (or shoot a gun... but I know less shooters than golfers...) although I do know lefties that golf right-handed. (Since most people are right handed, and golf is generally something you learn to do and improve on by watching other people, you can see why a lefty would pick up golfing right-handed... but it's hard to imagine vice versa) ... So... He must be ambidextrous.

(On a side note... Sayid's swing mechanics were terrible! Yet, he got the job done... Anyone besides me think that maybe he fine-tuned his game through the school of hard-knocks at the Reyes Golf and Country Club?)

I'm a lefty and I golf left-handed, but my father is right-handed yet golfs left, and he's a 6 handicap.

Could the golf-swing frame have been "flipped"? I know that's sometimes done just to make a better visual.
