Can anyone figure out the name of the cafe Sayid was in?

The one where he met Elsa?

It was Die Maurer, or "The Wall" in German. They were in Berlin.

I wonder why they chose the name "Die Mauer"? Being filmed in Oahu, the set had to be created from scratch, including the restaurant's name. Does the name have some significance (as someone pointed out, it means "the wall", specifically the Berlin wall)? Interestingly, it (phonetically) sounds a bit like die more.

Maybe the name could be based on a real location? Anyone been to Berlin? :D

While its hard to make out in this still... it quite clearly shows up as "1516" EHIN (the letters aren't clear but the numbers were VERY clear).

Nope - missed it. But I'm struck now by the likeness of the heavy set blonde man to Ana's partner.

'Die Mauer' was indeed the name given by Berliners to The Berlin Wall.

A German on the board at 4815162342.com is saying that the cafe is not a reconstructed Berlin location, and I can't find anything via Google. I'd be happy to be shown otherwise though :)

That blond guy DOES look quite a bit like Ana's partner, who interrogated Hurley this season. Coincidence?

I was impressed by the real-looking German street scene outside, and the snow on the ground. i thought, wow! they did all this in Hawaii? could they have just filmed the exterior in Germany and splice it into the scene's interior of the cafe?
