anyone else immediately find it weird that Elsa looks so much like Juliette when she was sitting in the cafe???? (and Sarah, and Penny and Shannon and Claire's mom etc. etc.)

There has to be something more to this

I kind of thought that in a certain light (like in bed) she even looked like Charlotte too. You're right, there is certainly some tie-in between all these similar looking blondes.

Could they all be some sort of Widmore spies or something, sent to various locales around the world to infiltrate the lives of the losties?

Or the casting director likes very specific looking blondes....

not really, but it reminded me of the scene with Des and Libby.

Actually for some reason she reminded me of Shannon. I know she was older and not as beautiful (sorry, actress whose name I don't know, you're still lovely). But I can see the similarities you're all talking about. Maybe it has more to do w/ the casting director's taste?!

I thought she looked like Charlotte. I thought that maybe she was one of Charlotte's sisters.

The only thing that makes me think it's more than just the casting directors preference, is that (I believe it's Ben), says to Jack, something along the lines of "Haven't you noticed how much she looks like your ex wife?" regarding Juliette, and why she specifically was chosen to "break" Jack.

I mentioned on another thread that I suspected Charlotte and Elsa of being tied to Penny, maybe sisters or half-sisters. But I'm less sure now, as I remember reading that Charlotte was originally intended to be an American character before they cast the British actress.

But I do agree that Penny, Juliet, Elsa, and Charlotte all look very similar. I think it may be a casting bias.

I thought the same, but the accents don't match...

Blonds have more fun? Seriously, I dont think there's a meaning behind the hair color these women share. But hey, that's just me.

I don't remember the actress being a blonde(she's Dutch, so am I), so I'm guessing it might be a deliberate move of the show.
