View Full Version : Michael's Season 1 line about his watch
kokobware 02-15-2008, 12:23 PM Remeber back in Season 1 when Michael yelled at Jin about the watch he'd found? Something like "TIME DOESN'T MATTER WHEN WERE STUCK ON AN ISLAND?"
Knowing what we think we know now (due to Faradar's experiment)... well, that line could have been much more important in the grander scheme of things. Or... the powers that be gave us a little easter egg clue REAL early on in the series.
Flotsam 02-16-2008, 01:53 AM Nah. I think Michael meant that time doesn't matter when you're living on a (seemingly) desert island, with no job and no appointments. Funny how themes come back around, though.

***Mod edited*** I'm quite sure the original poster knew that. He was talking about the intellectual meaning of it, not the literal meaning of it.
richlost 02-16-2008, 02:15 AM What about at the start of The Glass Ballerina, Opening scene, the glass ballerina breaks, Sun runs back to the piano, while playing the piano her father walks in, Sun reaches up and she stops the metronome, a TIME keeper, SUN STOPS TIME.
Or,
When Jack went to pronounce Colleen Pickett dead, he said "Time of death........" he looked around but there was no clock. No time.
Or, from Further Instructions,
In Lockes airport dream sequence, it shows Jack taking off his watch, a normal procedure at an airport check point right? Then why show it? It is a clue about "time" and how it relates to this show. Is Jack now removed from time, or vice versa.
For a long time I have been tracking "TIME" references

Outstanding compilation of visual puns and allusions to time!
i_wana_get_lost_with_starla 02-20-2008, 02:00 PM I want to live somewhere, where time has no meaning ; ).
That be fantastic.
"Driveshaft, more like Suckshaft"
wedestroymyths 02-20-2008, 02:07 PM let's not forget the alleged cut line from season 1
in which Danielle tells Sayid here crew was studying time...I think David Fury spilt the beans on that...
planetsong 02-21-2008, 03:50 AM Then there's Charlie's line from the pilot, "Guys? Is this normal? Day turning into night? End-of-the-world-type weather?"
Andok 02-21-2008, 06:49 AM Don't forget when Charlie said, "Guys, where are we?" and Hurley said, or "When are we?" Something like that.
