I think the writer's, hopefully, will be bringing Smokey back into the mix soon... give me some tree shaking, gimme the black cloud, gimme that earsplitting siren call, but I need to have some Smokey soon to make that jungle a scary place again. I think the Losties need a reminder that the jungle is not always so safe to go traipsing through, and the Freighties...well, they need a reality check.

I'd love to see a bunch of them hiking it up through the woods and then BOOM, Smokey comes flying out of a cerberus vent beneath their feet, a large, enveloping wall of black smoke causing mass panic...and they scatter....

So, I thought I'd make my first poll. When will Smokey make his return? Eggtown? Ep 5? 6? Not this Season at all??

What can I say, I'm stoked for a dose of fear in the dark and rainy jungle.

I voted episode 6 for the next obvious return of the smoke "monster" (we may have already seen it in some other form...it's a complex guy, sweetheart);) !

I chose episode 6 because...well, I don't know really know why.:rolleyes:

I think partly it is because so far time is going really slowly (no pun intended here) on the island. Tons of stuff has happened, but we're still in the same day! So I'm guessing it will take an episode or two to get a reaction from it.

If ol' Smokey isn't in the first half, I hope they put him in the second installment...maybe due to all our buzz!

These freighter people are walking around the island to nonchalantly if you ask me :) Although I would be okay if Smokey left the Losties alone for awhile considering what they have been through. But Smokey can have all the fun he wants with the freighter people ;)

Jack Swayer, I hope that you are right and that we see Smokey sooner, even though I voted that we wouldn't see Smokey till the next half (just b/c I think it will be tought for TPTB to fit a Somkey story line in the next few episodes).

I tihnk they can fit him in this half! :) As you said, they're not scared enough... hopefully survivors et al. end up in or near the Dark Territory and then we'll have some Smokey action. I think I want the siren call most of all.

Ooo. What if the smoke monster comes back to Juliet in episode 6 and kills her? It took pictures of her in "Left Behind" (confirmed to be something similar to that in Damon and Carlton's podcast back then). It doesn't seem she's still alive since Jack was trying to get with Kate in her flashforward, and Jack and Juliet are together now...

EDIT: Actually...for reasons I cannot say here I've changed my mind, but I still want to see the smoke monster in episode 6; but maybe it'll kill her later this season? idk...

I voted episode 6. Halfway through the season seems about right to me. I had been hoping he would pop up when Daniel was doing his rocket experiment.

Ep 6 or second half would be my guess...we definitely need some smokey in the show ;)

I wonder if smokey makes itself known to the freightastic four, will they be frightened/freaked out or will the behave calmly as they already know what it is.

I believe they will. Down there lies the heart of the island, the Underground. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually. As for Smokey, if I could change my vote to tonight I would...It's coming!

When was the last time we really saw Smokey? It was when Juliet and Kate were running and Juliet layed the smackdown on it near Othertown. Maybe she actually really damaged it, and that's why it hasn't shown up lately. It must be in the jungle licking its wounds.

Nah, that's not why. I think they just forgot about Smokey, but then every once in a while they rememberd.

I chose "not this season", because it seems TPTB are focused on relationships, personal drama, getting rescued, etc. There hasn't really been an episode this season where the Island scares you/the characters. Smokey needs to visit one of the groups, Beach, Barracks, Others, and EAT somebody. That'll put some fear back into these characters. The ones in the Barracks especially! Umm...hello?? The Sonic Fence protecting your peaceful little village is turned OFF, unless Ben gave Locke the code to turn it back on.

Remember how afraid everyone used to be of this thing? hmm...who should Smokey eat? Can't be O6: Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sayid, or Sun. Number 6 is still theory. Maybe he eats Claire, which would explain why Kate has Aaron in the future. But it'll probably be on of the other Losties that have never been introduced, but you see them in the background on the beach. Probably no one important or critical to the story. Or just beat Jack up, he's been too dumb/stupid-questions/thanks-mr-obvious lately. Get him nice and scared, that's when his character is the strongest.

Someone go get busted for DWI in the real world so the writers can write you off via death by Smokey.
