View Full Version : Kate/Sawyer/Jack
MinnieVanMommie 02-21-2008, 10:59 PM Please dont let this be yet another thread closed.....BE NICE and talk fairly
Kate seemed not to be truthful to Sawyer to find out what SAwyer would say....
Sawyer knows she cant decide between the 2 of them.....
she is with Jack in her fast foward...and there is still something there...still something between them also...and since he doesnt want to be part of THE babys life...well....it is a thing that makes you go hmmmmmm....lol
GettinLost 02-21-2008, 11:42 PM Yeah - lots of luck with that one MVM!! :)
I don't know... It seemed both "Ships" were shut down a little tonight by Kate.
I Ship Sawyer - and whatever he wants - so naturally I was a little disappointed things didn't work out in his favor tonight. I really have to hand it to him though, he knows how she is playing both he and Jack against each other. And yet he still loves her all the same. That has to be pretty hard for him. Oh yes, he occasionally gets what he wants - but does he? Not really. He wants her to chose and love him. That's all anyone could ever ask for, right? Even a rough-edged conman.
I loved the whole "truth-slap" scene! Those kinds of scenes are so amazingly human to me. Nothing like having a little truth thrown in your face and then slap the face of the one who tells it like it is. So I was like, "Yep - it's the truth but - *smack* - you are SO going to get nailed for that one!"
I don't understand Kate.

I think Sawyer made pretty clear that he has Kate's number. I hope he's beginning to fall out of love. He's way too good for her.
And Jack . . . GAWD. "How about, uh, going for coffee sometime?" And HOW many years has he been in love with her? With this level of timidity and hem-hawing around, he'll never get any woman.
Now I think I've offended both Skaters and Jaters . . .
lostchild 02-22-2008, 03:21 AM Jack and Kate's whole interaction (in both ET and TTLG) lead me to believe that perhaps they tried to start something occurring somewhere between ET and TTLG.
that's just my two cents. I'm a Jater, so I'm always hopeful when I see them smiling at one another. (even if it ends up fruitless thanks to Jack's slightly awkward gawking at Kate:biggrin: )
Dezdemona 02-22-2008, 03:57 AM I thought all three of them came off badly, simply because the writing was so off. That looked like Season 1 Kate and Sawyer with a sleepover thrown in. No layers whatsoever, none of their rich history in evidence anywhere. Just weird. As for Jack... I just thought he came across very oddly in the courtroom and garage scenes. I'm not knocking Jack here at all, I just thought all his dialogue was structured oddly and he wasn't speaking in his own "voice". JMO, of course.
heppamies 02-23-2008, 01:33 PM I really don't like the way Kate acts as a character. She's playing both sides, just to see which one turns out the better way out in a hard situation.
She's always thinking only of herself, and not really caring for either Jack or Sawyer. When staying with Jack seems safer, she woos for him, and then again with Sawyer.
momster4 02-23-2008, 01:49 PM To quote what a friend of mine said, Jack & Kate have always seemed so 'sweet' together, but Sawyer & Kate just 'sizzle!' I always thought that Sawyer & Kate had so much more in common (background wise); but that if Kate hadn't ended up doing what she did (as in blowing up her dad), that she might be a better match for Jack (personality-wise).
After this epi, I think the writers (on strike or not) did a good job of throwing a wrench in both the relationships. I, personally, really need more to go on - what actually transpired in getting the Oceanic 6 off the island, what has happened/is happening to those 'left behind', exactly how much time has passed since they left the island, etc - before I can really make any judgement call.
So, I guess this was just a long-winded way of saying that I have always been and continue to be completely neutral when it comes to these three. I continue to be hopefully that something will happen to sway my mind..
stevenmv5 02-23-2008, 01:59 PM This little love saga needs to end. I'm getting tired of Kate going back and forth between Sawyer and Jack. She needs to make up her mind and stop acting like a child.
heppamies 02-23-2008, 02:04 PM I think she keeps changing her mind every few eps. Sometimes she's like "ok, Jack seems safer in this situation when they attack so lets stay with him". When she's with Sawyer at prison, eggtown or whatever she's thinking "it's better to give sawyer false ideas again since Locke seems to threat me today", or "Ben is so scary i want to hug Sawyer so hard now".
It feels like when she was running away from the police, playing it safe all the time.
Later on Jack keeps telling her they need to get back to the island. She gets really annoyed about the continous calls, and decides not to answer them anymore. When she finally agrees to see Jack at the airport, she wants to leave almost immediately away. It's like "OK i love you Jack, but not enough to do anything that would jeopardize myself. Shut up and go away now".
bawstngrl 02-23-2008, 02:08 PM As I posted in another thread I think maybe Kate made a deal with Ben - way back in the "handcuffed breakfast" scene that he would use his cancer cure on her mom if she would promise to get pregnant soon. Then Ben set her and Sawyer up in the cages (with the sexy dress) to make it start happening...remember Kate initiated it by getting out of the cage so easily (how convenient!!!) and the camera were "proof" she was keeping her deal
THEN Kate found out what happens to pregnant ladies on the island and wanted off at any price - even if she had to stand trial in the US. She is pregnant when rescued, has the baby off island. This of course assumes it takes a couple of years for her to come to trial after the rescue.
Kate's baby is named Aaron in honor of the real Aaron who is stays behind/is captured by the evil folks on the freighter/dies (something that also pains Jack greatly)
Jack stays away because he is tortured that the baby is Sawyers
Sawyer either doesn't know about the baby at all or dies before the rescue
heppamies 02-23-2008, 02:18 PM Hehe that could work in "days of our lives", but not in lost.
momster4 02-23-2008, 02:18 PM Well, I'm not saying I agree w/everything that bawstngrl has said (I'm not saying she's wrong, either). Like I have serious doubts that that child is NOT Claire's. I think he totally is. I just don't understand why Kate would have a baby and name him Aaron. Anyway.. I DO wonder what happened to Kate at/after that little breakfast she had w/Ben. We never did find out why her wrists were so scraped up....
