Is Kate worried that he may, in his later years, develope the habit of referring to everyone he meets by some stereo-typical, television inspired nickname? Hmm.....

:24: Good one! That could be a dominant gene...

I know you're kidding (are you? hehe), but maybe Kate's going to do her best to be a good mother. And then there's always the idea of keeping the "celebrity status" thing minimized.

I don't have that cute little "falling on the floor laughing" guy, but LOL big time.

I thought it was because of the news coverage of the trial, and given the sensationalistic tendancies of the U.S. media, they would spread half truths about her that might frighten her "son." Because Aaron did seem old enough to understand the news coverage, what the anchors would be saying, not comprehend it.

I think obviously to not see her all over the news etc.

It was definitely so that he wouldn't see his "mommie" on tv, especially since he's already missing her because of her jail stay.

Yeah, I know, I know. That line just struck me funny because my toddler(s) love(d) to watch their shows on T.V. and there aren't any news blurbs on Noggin, Nick Jr. or PBSkids.

TV rots your brain. And we all know that sneaky Dora the Explorer is up to no good. You've gotta keep your kids away from that stuff. ;)

I think there are two reasons for it, both already stated.

One, she doesn't want him to be a little couch potato. My 1 1/2 year old niece is already addicted to Elmo. And two, there would be a chance he could spot his mom on tv. So, yeah, what you all everybody said. ;)

Depending on how old Aaron is when they actually leave the island, maybe it is also to hide him from the oceanic 6 coverage that was probably included with the trial coverage? Like they don't want him to know about all that?

I think it's a combination of not wanting him to know about the trial and the ocean 6 stuff. This could also be why she doesn't want anyone to see him, including her mom.

^ I think Kate was so adamant about her mom not seeing Aaron because she would be able to tell that he wasn't Kate's true offspring.

I don't think she was making the maid comment for any other reason other than just to make it. Because if you notice Kate is smiling when she says it. It's like coming home to you babysitter and jokingly saying "You didn't keep her up too late did you?". I beleive she said watch "too" much TV, not TV in general...

I could be wrong tho

I think she just didn't want him to see anything about the trial and the Oceanic 6 thing.

Maybe weird things happen when Aaron gets near a TV. Maybe he disturbs the signal. Remember in 402 when Frank moved near the TV to see the wreckage of the airplane under water, and the signal got worse when Frank got emotional? Maybe Frank, and Aaron, have some kind of abilities...

I must be the only crazy guy that thought Aaron was not supposed to be near the TV due to some "special-ness" he might have from being born on the island. At least that's what I felt during the episode. When I mentioned it, my fiancee laughed at me, haha.

This and the TV comment made me think that Aaron has something special going on.

My first thought was that he was an embodyment of the powers of the island-- healing, wish fullfillment etc.

He might be keeping Gma alive just by being remotely aware of her existance and would heal her completlely if she meets him. He might also be able to conjure up what he focuses on.
