So, did you know the baby was going to be Aaron. I had a hunch. They dropped too many clues. The biggest was all the airtime Kate had with Claire and Aaron.

Once Kate mentioned she had a son, something didn't ring right. For the kid to be old enough to be put on the stand in her defense, a lot of time would have passed...off island, but how long would it take for her to get to trial after returning home? Not too long, a year? More? something wasn't right.
Then, on island, when she was talking baby stuff with Claire it became obvious to me....

yeah, the juxtaposition of Kate/Claire/Aaron was pretty obvious. But what happens to Claire???

For me, as soon as Kate referred to "my son" when speaking to her lawyer about putting "him" on the stand, I had a feeling that her son was going to end up being Aaron. I leaned towards this because the lawyer seemed to have been implying that they use her O6 fame to their advantage (at least thats how it came off to me) and then they immediately spoke of putting "him" on the stand. I just put 2 and 2 together and it made sense that the lawyer would want to put her child, who she supposedly gave birth to on the island and was raising there, on the stand so he could talk about how his mommy cared for him and to draw compassion from the jury.

Nope I thought for sure it was Sawyers baby. I thought it even more when I saw all that blond hair on his head.

I figured jack was just being Jack and couldn't stand to see Kate with anothers mans baby.

I was mostly unspoiled for this episode, but I had heard this theory before, so yeah, when I saw the baby I realized that what I had read before was true.

I have heard various theories suggesting that Kate's "him" was Aaron but didn't put much merit into it, however, midway through the episode when Aaron was the topic of discussion and how Kate was reluctant to hold him (hasn't she held him before?) it went through my head that she had was the one raising him. Now the big mystery is why Jack is so hesitant to see Aaron.

I was thinking by the end that Kate had a child (that she didn't tell anyone about) before the crash.

Yes. Though the honest reply is that I read the spoiler ;) Otherwise I'd have probably been totally clueless up until the end, and simply assumed that Kate got pregnant by Sawyer after all.

i think we had lots of clues through the episode that could made us think that the baby was Aaron.
1.She was not pregnant on the island... NOT SAWYER'S !
2.At the court they wanted to bring the baby as witness.. so the baby was on the manifest.
3.She was not married.
4.the moment of Claire and Kate with Aaron... that was the most beautiful moment..i mean for us... because what she dont know is that she will have Aaron forever.

I read the spoilers - so I knew. But, I refused to tell the people at work who "he" was... and they begged me. I just said, "he" is the last person on the island you'd think it was. I'll see what they think in about an hour when I get into work.

I'm sorry, but these theories that Aaron is not Claire's are silly. It is Claire's baby. That makes the plot going, and it is too sappy to have Kate name her own baby after Aaron.

My sister thought this too, she was waiting for Kate to call the kid James or something!! I thought it was Sawyer's kid too, I was thinking maybe they'd throw in a twist and say it was Jack's and that they had hooked up before they left the island or something,but then I kept thinking then why wouldn't jack want to see his own kid. but they completely shocked me with this one!!

not to me. I thought quite the opposite.

I thought she had a baby already that she just didnt tell anyone about for some weird Kate reason. Then I thought that is why she got so upset with Sawyer saying that he didnt want any baby. That she left his house upset because he didnt want one and she already had one. Thought Oh that is the reason she wants to go back to the real world and be willing to go to jail. It was making total sence in my mind that way to me until the end...
I had to rewind the ending 3 times just to catch the kids name that I heard it correctly I was so shocked.

I actually didn't know it was Aaron until, get ready for this, I came to this board! The way Kate said "Hey Aaron" didn't sound like "Hey Aaron" to my dumb ears. :confused:

Since I didn't really like the episode, I didn't much care that I didn't understand what Kate said at the very end, even after replaying that scene on my trusty DVR. I just thought to myself, "Oh, Sawyer must be the father of Kate's blond-haired child." and then promptly came up with a theory based on that assumption, which is of absolutely no use right now. :undecide:

Hi All - long time lurker, small time poster here. i hope this is the appropriate place to ask this question. others have reminded me that claire was told she couldn't let anyone else raise her child, but i seem to recall the resolution to that story line was the psyhic turned out to be a fraud. help. me head is spinnin' a wee bit. thanks!

They show you one thing (the baby is going to be Kate and Sawyer's...) while using slight of hand to reveal the true answer (the baby is Aaron...), but that's what I love about it.

Oh yeah, I figured it out before I saw the show, based on last year's final episode when Kate mentions "him" combined with the previews that said we would know one more member of the Oceanic Six this week. The story line was pretty simple and easy to guess.

I called it before the reveal. But it was easy to see with the scene between her, claire and the baby.

NO, I didn't realize the baby was Aaron. But I was thinking, "Gee, for a child produced by Kate and Jack, that baby is awfully BLONDE!"

Just as a side note (no douchebaggery intended, I promise) it's actually sleight of hand. I found this out about a month ago and now I have the chance to tell someone. The more you know.

I figured it out when Kate was talking to Jack in the garage. I thought if I said anything, people would call me crazy, lmao. But I definitely thought the baby was Aaron before they revealed.

I was totally surprised!! This just makes more questions for me. Why would Jack not want to see his nephew Aaron? Unless he does not know that Claire was/is his sister(I think Claire would have to be dead in order for Kate to have Aaron).Or perhaps Jack thinks the baby is Sawyers.
