I am wondering if Locke losing his cool and whipping that breakfast at the wall wasn't a ploy to make Ben think that Ben has the upper hand? Locke has really started following his instincts lately and he already knows that Ben manipulates people and plays mind games. What are the chances that Locke is not playing Ben?

If all Locke did was smash the egg plate against the wall outside of Ben's cell, I would agree with you. But TPTB made a point of showing him angrily slamming the front door to "his house", and even had Kate and Claire comment on it. So I am thinking that Locke, no matter how calm and collected he tries to portray himself to the Losties as, is still being played by Ben.

i think Locke needs to contain himself a little more. i dont think he was acting. i think he has lost the ability to communicate with the island. he hasnt been able to in the last episodes. hurley can or did. whats up w/ that? ben knows that locke has lost the connection w/ the island and is using that to stir him up a bit.
thats what i see....?

Locke is a hot head...the writers don't always portray him as being as smart as we assume he is. He did the same thing in the Hatch when Ben got under his skin...he smashed a few defensless dinner plates on the floor. Maybe Locke has issues with kitchen ware?
