With Faraday's experiments revealing that time seems to move differently on and off the island, isn't it possible that Danielle has been on the island a lot longer than she thinks she has? There's always been something that hasn't quite added up with her to me, and she's never said what year she was born or when she crashed, since there's no real reason to say something like "what year are you from?".

Ben has left the island a bunch of times (as we can guess from his passports) and he's aged relatively normally. Aside from working at Mittelos Bioscience, Alpert's seemingly been on the island a lot and has barely aged at all. So it seems to me that Danielle may have been on the island for 16 years of island time, but since her and Alex have never been off the island, it's possible that she entered the island's space and crashed there with her team much further back than 16 years before the crash of Oceanic 815.

I think it would be mind-blowing to find out in her flashback episode (which I've been hearing is hopefully coming in season 5), that she entered island space sometime around World War II, or maybe even further. The only thing we've seen that would date her back that far is her guns, and we don't necessarily know that those were hers to begin with.

In this way, her line in 'Solitary', when she says "16 years...has it really been that long?" takes on a much more significant meaning. In fact, it's been even longer than 16 to the rest of the world, but not her.

I think Danielle's revelation will focus on something like this. I don't know how far back they could go with it, but we have confirmed that something funky is going on.

I read this, I don't recall where, but it seemed official... Rouesseau crashed in 1988 . Remembering that has put a hold on my time differences math.

Does this lead to the theory that the time difference did not begin until Des turned the failsafe key?

Interesting - Alex's age and the SOS message running on a loop both indicate 16 years - but they are both on "island time".

Island time difference cause a Desmond? I've heard that, but it takes all of the fun out of it for me. I want the island to be screwy from the git go.

As a matter of fact, reading "The Genesis of Lost" Part of the original plan was that the island would be a character unto itself So based on that, I'd say its always been that way. Good. Much more fun.

The Island is screwy enough without any time rifts! I mean, just in the last couple of episodes the time difference was confirmed. Before that, didn't you think that a smoke monster, healing properties, electromagnetic anomalies, etc., made the Island weird?

I think that Rousseau is the girl seen in ben's flashbacks during the man behind the curtain and was probly pregnant at the time of the hostiles attack so ben probly had her at a safe location and the trauma from the hole event probly drove her abit whacky. Just a Theory really

Interesting! And, you know what?

Based on a preview I've seen of the next episode, I'd say you're dead on.
